I thought that interview was one of the best I’ve ever heard on the issue, and Keyes presents the issue very well. It is the best I’ve ever heard him.
I almost voted for Keyes, and I wish I had by now. Just because he hasn’t won every contest does not mean he isn’t right. Most of the time. I disagree with him on one issue, but overall he is an excellent conservative. He deserves respect.

I agree with you. I didn’t bother to read the entire article, as the name-calling at the beginning indicated it wasn’t worth reading.

Some of our great columnists should write about this phenomenon that we are seeing in society today: Truly important issues are minimized and those who champion them are marginalized. At the same time, the supposedly “wise” leaders who are totally wrong about everything are considered sensible.

One example is Ross Perot, who with his charts and expertise warned everyone about the dangers of overspending. He was portrayed as a kook while the establishment pols continued their folly. Looking back today, who was crazy?

Pat Buchanan and Tom Tancredo were marginalized and laughed at for warning about illegal immigration. Looking back today, who was right?

In my opinion, this birth certificate issue is another such case. Further, it is an issue whose time has come and which transcends Obama. It is a vital issue that is being marginalized by all of the “sensible” establishment figures who have, by the way, been ruining this country in every conceivable way—while enriching themselves at our expense!

I want SCOTUS to uphold the Constitution, no matter what. If their definition of natural born citizen is recorded and Obama doesn’t qualify but is not made to leave the White House, I can live with that, I suppose. Such an outcome is better than allowing this vital issue to be totally ignored. We need a definition and we need to vet candidates.

Charles Krauthammer (sp?) and John Derbyshire are two great columnists trained as psychiatrists. I would love to read their takes on this phenomenon.
