Probe Shows George Tiller's Center Routinely Flouts Late-Term Abortion Law

Wichita, KS (LifeNews.com) -- George Tiller has been embroiled in a multi-year legal battle defending himself against charges from the Kansas attorney general that he is violating the state's late-term abortion laws. A pro-life group that has been monitoring him released the results of an undercover probe showing that's the case.

Operation Rescue released to LifeNews.com the results of an undercover investigation it recently conducted at Tiller's late-term abortion facility, Women's Health Care Services.

The results show what OR says is compelling evidence that Tiller's abortion business routinely underestimates the fetal age and viability of unborn children in order to comply with Kansas law.

By estimating that the age of the baby at the time of the abortion is less than late-term, it can get away with not complying with the requirements Kansas law places on such abortions.

"The evidence shows there is no doubt that fetal ages and viability are being intentionally misstated by WHCS in order to do abortions that would otherwise be illegal," Operation Rescue president Troy Newman says.

A pregnant Operation Rescue volunteer named Shaye offered to participate in the undercover investigation that it conducted in October.

In a sworn statement Shaye said that a WHCS employee conducted her sonogram and determined that her baby was 24 weeks, 6 days gestation, past the threshold of viability. The Tiller employee then tore off those ultrasound photos and threw them into the trash.

She took new measurements, then told Shaye her baby was only 23 weeks gestation.

Shaye easily obtained an appointment for an abortion without having to see the second physician required by law for post-viability abortions, the pro-life group indicated.

In order to confirm the actual fetal age of Shaye's baby, she received two more sonograms on that same day at other medical centers -- both of which indicated the baby was beyond 24 weeks gestation.

Shaye had made WHCS aware that both she and her baby were healthy and that the pregnancy was without complications. She was given an appointment for an abortion but did not keep it, though a similar woman in her circumstance with a health pregnancy and a baby past 24 weeks into pregnancy could have kept it.

Newman says the investigation confirms the testimony of District Attorney Phill Kline who stated in court last week that evidence showed that Tiller was doing late-term abortions on healthy women with viable babies.

Kline told the court that he saw evidence that Planned Parenthood referred women in such situations to Tiller for illegal abortions.

"This evidence warrants further investigation by law enforcement authorities," said Newman. "This is convincing proof that, in spite of already facing 19 criminal charges, Tiller continues to flout the law to the danger of women and their babies."

Newman says his group calls on Attorney General Steve Six to launch a further investigation of Tiller, and renews its call on the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts for an emergency closure of WHCS and suspension of Tiller's medical license.

Why would anyone even expect Tiller the Killer to care about the age of the baby he's about to murder.

Exactly! Geo. Tiller has stated that the "baby is NOT his patient."

Even George Tiller acknowledges that "the fetus" is a BABY and the age of the baby is nothing that bothers him. He is about "eliminating the cause of concern" of the pregnant woman (even 11 year old child in one instance.)

Tiller admitted to flouting Kansas' late term abortion laws in the Kansas City Star. No, he didn't say "I'm flouting the law". He did say that he performed an abortion on a child 7 months into gestation because the mother was 'depressed'.

Sadly as long as Sebellius and her cronies are in charge in Kansas, Tiller can do whatever he likes and get away with it.

The people of Kansas chose this regime - If they cared about Tiller's murdering ways, they could have supported candidates with morals.

How can those ghouls ultrasound a 6+ month perfectly healthy fetus and then schedule an abortion? How can a human being do that?

Is this just a money-making enterprise for Tiller, or is there some other motivation that is at work? Has he ever said?

I know that Tiller makes a lot of donations to pro-abortion politicians.

That would make sense, since he would hope to benefit from their association.

Tiller has a friend in obama and the new administration and he knows it. Why should he fear anything? If obama has his way with the Freedom of Choice Act (one of his #1 priorities), Tiller will just be joe-blow law abiding citizen with his ghoulish baby killing business.

Sadly, yes, a majority who voted did. This voter didn't, but I'm stuck suffering the consequences of stupid voters.
