You’re all being juvenile..this is a very good thing for the children. Can you even imagine what all this is like for a little girl? I think they’re going to have to have familiar faces around them just to keep them on ground level.
I don’t necessarily think people are being juvenile. Many children have grown up in the White House without grandma moving in to the quarters.
If this was so important, why has grandma not lived with them the whole time up to this point? The One has been on the campaign trail for almost two years.
Mrs. Robinson sounds like a down to earth lady with some common sense. How did her daughter get to be such an uppity snob?

This is probably the first thing this “president elect” has done that I like.
As a g’ma who has the honor of getting to take care of my g’kids while their parents work & travel... I agree with First G’ma. If anybody is gonna watch them/babysit... by god... it better be me. In fact, I hope g’ma let’s those kids ride down those stairs on biscuit pans... like Teddy’s kids did. And... all things considered, I hope she lets them watch reruns of the History Channels “Apocalypse Week”.
Exactly. Were the situation reversed, these folks would be praising a conservative for their "family values."
So this is what Rev. Wright meant when he said “America’s chickens have come to roost”. This is just too rich; I can’t wait for the rest of the family to arrive....

Agree the hand touch is for show. Body language also says when legs are crossed away from the other person, it does not indicate closeness. Michelle was raised upper middle class and no doubt Obama was a step down in mom’s eyes especially with his parents.
I agree. I respect that the Obamas have an 8:30 bedtime for the kids and limit TV time. I think TV is a brain-suck for kids and our nation is suffering because of it. So what if we’re paying for Grandma... If a white president had 5 kids, nobody would gripe about how much secret service cost to shepherd all of them. Obama has 2 kids and Grandma, big deal. I wish people would quit with the racial bias on every single topic.
Exactly how is wondering who’s picking up the tab racial bias?
