Governor Bill Richardson says it's all a matter of timing -- that if only the feds had wrapped up a corruption investigation into his New Mexico Administration by now, he'd be cleared and would be winging his way to Washington confident of Senate confirmation as the next Commerce Secretary. He would NEVER have been confirmed because of his record in Clinton's administration. Senator Byrd spoke with great anger to Richardson and told him he would NEVER be confirmed as long as he was in the Senate. The mess at Los Alamos Labs was Richardson's screw up. I think he withdrew his name because he didn't want to be embarrassed in confirmation hearings, and judging from Byrd's anger, it would have been a difficult time for Richardson.

So the investigation of BR was a blessing in disguise since senile Senator Byrd would have resisted? I don’t think so, the Messiah will get whomever he desires with this Senate fullo RATS.
