Bristol and Levi are doing the right thing and getting married. I’d think the bigger crisis is the overwhelming incidence of young girls who give birth without any commitment whatsoever on the part of the “baby daddy”.
When the heck are they going to get married? Why didn’t they marry before the birth so that the baby could be legitimate? Is she waiting so that she can have a big fancy wedding with a fancy dress? It seems to me that they fact that they haven’t already gotten married is a clear message that they have no respect for traditional, conservative social values.
I like Sarah, but this whole episode is sad.
I doubt if Bristol Palin is going to cost the taxpayers anything to support her and the baby.
If this show had come to my town they could have gone up to the housing projects and picked from hundreds of single mostly black fatherless and husbandless teenagers proudly bearing babies as something to show their womanhood and give them some kind of (miserable) status in their community
Perhaps unwed adulated Saint Angelina Jolie who has birthed 3 illegitimate children- could take this on as one of her missions as to how Hollywood contributes to this fantasy life of babies and single motherhood
I agree Bristol and Levi are doing the right thing by getting married, but it’s time for them to actually get married! In some ways, an unmarried couple with a child who drag their feet about actually getting married is a worse example than a single mother with no guy in the picture because the couple is sending the message that marriage is just a formality. I am going to start praying that Bristol and Levi marry SOON.
Out of wedlock births are the problem, not teenage births. There is a difference.
Actually, with the avant garde type folks being so embarrassed about having babies at all, and making sure they kill off all their own progeny, the consequence is they've become a smaller percentage of the population.
The remaining folks like babies fine and have them whenver and wherever that happens.
Hence, the percentages increase in the pro-baby side while declining on the anti-life side.
The math is remarkably simple.
Well they haven’t married and apparently not living together, either. In reading about yesterday’s lengthy interview, John Zeigler said in his column that when he arrived at the Palin’s in Wasilla, Bristol answered the door as Sarah was not yet ready. She then went to a badroom where Tripp was.
(BTW, I read the Zeigler interview was held at the Palin home to avoid criticism (previously levied) that Palin was using her office on state property for non-state business.)
