Obama names former Clinton officials for Pentagon

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President-elect Barack Obama on Thursday named four former Clinton administration officials to top defense positions, including former Pentagon comptroller William Lynn as deputy defense secretary.

The four officials will form a senior policy team under Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who has agreed to stay on as Pentagon chief in the Obama administration.

"I am confident that these distinguished individuals have the expertise and commitment needed to help me implement a sustainable national security strategy," Obama said in a statement.

To be fair, there have been only two Dim administrations in the last 40 years. Carter’s official would be too old by now. Those who are attracted to work for another Dim administration, especially for high rank officials, are more likely coming from Clinton’s administration. The fact he had two terms in the office make the pool of potential recruits even bigger.

On the “Brian and the Judge” radio show this morning, Brian mentioned that Robert Novak confided to him and Judge Nap that the Clintons had unearthed devastating information on Obama but had refrained from using it during the recent campaign. Novak apparently did not disclose the nature of the material. Brian speculated that this information is now being used against Obama in order to “Clintonize” the incoming administration.
