A Million Stories To Tell
Big Hollywood ^ | 1/6/2008 | Andrew Breitbart

Posted on 01/07/2009 2:06:42 AM PST by bruinbirdman

On Tuesday, I launch Big Hollywood, a big group blog that will feature hundreds of the big minds from the fields of politics, journalism, entertainment and culture.

Big Hollywood is not a “celebrity” gabfest or a gossip outpost - it is a continuous politics and culture posting board for those who think something has gone drastically wrong and that Hollywood should return to its patriotic roots.

Big Hollywood’s modest objective: to change the entertainment industry. To make Hollywood something we can believe in - again. In order to give millions of Americans hope.

Until conservatives, libertarians and Republicans - who will be the lion’s share of Big Hollywood’s contributors - recognize that (pop) culture is the big prize and that politics is secondary, there will be no victory in this important battle.

You can read it in full here.

Yes that Breitbart. Tired of leftist Hollywood? This guy has vowed to bring Hollywood Conservatives out from behind the stage door.

It is a terrific site once you learn how to navigate.

Hollywood is a business. It’s always been a business and always will be a business.

And, for better or worse, an increasing share of the profits (about 30%) come from the international market. In this respect, it’s one of America’s most profitable exports — bringing in more than any single industry.

So, unless he’s prepared to lobby for laws limiting Hollywood exports, they will continue to make movies that appeal to a global market.

Hollywood is not run like a business. Long ago, they stopped making movies in order to make money.

Leftists hold the purse strings for Hollywood, and people with money to burn don’t mind bankrolling POS films that bomb in the box office as long as they attempt to get their point of view across.

Look at the movies that have come out over the last five years that have lost money...movies like “Stop Loss”...”Rendition” and so on.

These studios have turned out bomb after bomb, losing money hand over hand, but that is not a problem apparently, because they are still making movies.

Hollywood turns out crap, and has for a long time. There was a time I used to go to the movies at least once a week, sometimes twice on occasion, since I am a movie buff.

There has not been one single movie worth a damn this year. I saw and liked “An American Carol”, but it failed in my eyes because...it was too truthful to be comedy (even though I did find parts of it very funny)

I have heard that a studio is going to turn “Lone Survivor” into a movie. First, I will believe it when I see it, and second, I cannot believe there is a pumping heart in Hollywood that has the courage to make that movie correctly and do the book and the memory of the men (and what our military does everyday) justice.
