Founding Fathers are looking for a way to walk the Earth again.
I have heard that His Excellency is 33d in a “Prince Hall” Lodge, whatever that means.
Is that “Regular”? I don’t think we have them here.
A ball will be “held”?
Of course, his pastor is Prince Hall.
Obama is a Mason?
There. Fixed it. Sorry for any confusion.
That's one in which you Party Like It's 1999.
A “Prince Hall” lodge is primarily for blacks. The operative word is ‘primarily’, somewhat like a black college.
Price Hall is a black lodge. It is considered a regular lodge. Nate King Cole was one as well. Look up famous Masons and you will see several black members.
I hope the Dear Messiah will attain the next degree soon.
Otherwise, he might need to move to Utah and start a whole new religion based on Masonic principals, only slightly altered according to some golden tablets he finds in the woods.
I can’t believe Masons would support this abomination!
“I believe my balls should be held every night!”
AC-DC
“Price Hall is a black lodge. “
THAT explains it.
I just left a comment shocked that Masons would support this abomination.
Since we judge by ones COLOR, then it makes SENSE that a BLACK Masonic Lodge would cater to a BLACK man and NOT a WHITE man.
They of the “sacred aprons”.

Given his difficulty with producing a valid Birth Certificate, I’d be wanting to try him by signs and tokens. That’s what they’re there for.
A Prince Hall Lodge generally refers to a Lodge consisting exclusively of African Americans and are usually not recognized as true masonic lodges by the respective Masonic jurisdictions or the Grand Lodges of the states. They are recognized only by the Prince Hall Lodges.

'Course he can daaaannnnce!
The Lodge’s own web page indicates that neither Barack Obama nor Joe Biden are Masons.
Thanks — so they would be “Regular” but not necessarily “In Amity?”
Actually, this is mostly no longer true. Grand Lodges of AF & AM or F & AM in 34 states now recognize their respective Prince Hall Grand Lodges, though that does not necessarily include free visitation. My own Masonic jurisdiction just became the 34th this past winter and visitation requires explicit permission from both Grand Masters.
That said, generally, Prince Hall Lodges are regular and quite legitimate. The usage stems from the Revolutionary War, when white lodges in the US were forcibly divorced from the Grand Lodge in London. The only one recognized at the time was the newly-formed Prince Hall in Boston (named for a man with that name, btw). As the unpleasantness subsided, recognition quickly followed, but mutual recognition did not. That was an extended process which is still going on.
I suspect this means he is Scottish Rite. To my knowledge there are only three degrees in Blue Lodge Masonry, of which Prince Hall is an exemplar.
Free Born???????? Roque lodges.
I stand corrected. I just called the Secy of my lodge and he told me pretty much the same thing. He said this came about after I served as Master.(10 years ago). Then they were not recognized by the Grand Lodge.
With today’s announcement of a worldwide virtual ball via the Internet, this will mark the last time anyone ever sees ‘Balls’ in this term.
They misspelled “Messianic Ball”.
I always thought the Masons were a very conservative, very white group.
It was my honor to vote for Prince Hall recognition at the last Annual Communication here in NC.
I am surprised (or maybe I’m not) that politics isn’t forbidden in Prince Hall lodges as it is in AF & AM lodges.
You would never see an AF & AM lodge host an inauguration ball for any president.
They are regular in Texas, or at least one may have Masonic communication with them.
Not sure if AF&FM and Prince Hall can sit in each other’s meetings.
Prince Hall. He was a colurful guy.
I’ve recently found Amos and Andy on YouTube. I was surprised.
Jurisdictions vary, is why. Check your state Grand Lodge, if you are interested.
“I always thought the Masons were a very conservative, very white group.”
Yes, I did to, until I did some research for a book. The Cherokee had lodges in Indian Territory/Arkansas in the 1850’s-60’s and after. Blacks in the area also had lodges.
Very conservative, yes. White, no.
My lodge (not Prince Hall) has black, white, hispanic, one Asian doctor who doesn’t show up, Jewish, Roman Catholic and every protestant denomination around.
Dang! Beat me to it!
Prince Hall is a historic, African American Masonic affiliate body. They where founded in the 1700s to support abolitionist groups. Prince Hall has a very interesting history.
Very conservative when it comes to individual values but as you know, many people live conservative values but vote liberal. I wouldn't call the lodges 'very white', very diverse and one of the first fraternal groups to welcome members no matter their racial background.

Thank you for the excellent link.
Anyone else amused that Arkansas is one of the laggards in this regard?

According to the site, neither Bambi nor Biden are Masons. It looks like they are simply using the event that may have many brothers in town to have an assemblage and help raise a little money for their local charities.
