DANA POINT Three groups clashed in verbal protest over immigration as they lined the streets of Doheny Park Road in Capistrano Beach Saturday.
Members of the anti-illegal immigration Minuteman Project demonstrated with flags in a group of more than 20 at an informal day laborer pick-up site near Ganahl Lumber.
About a dozen day workers at the site then moved north along the road to get work while trying to steer clear of the antagonistic shouting between flag-waving Minutemen and about five anti-Minutemen protesters.

I think Dana Point is near Costa Mesa, Orange County. I could be wrong because I live in NY.

It’s at the southern end of Orange country, California. I used to live just south of there in San Clemente (also the old abode of Richard Nixon).

Dana Point????? Where the heck is that? I grew up in SoCal. Dana Point and surrounding areas used to be just lovely. Pristine beaches, very attractive homes, away from the masses of beach goers who preferred San Diego (to the south) or Newport Beach/Huntington Beach (to the north). I left CA years ago and now, sadly, it sounds like this area isn't even nearly what it used to be.

This is Dana Point Harbor. I fish there and other places in the area.
BTW, no place is like it used to be, except for maybe out in the the middle of nowhere, in the California desert. lol...
But Dana Point is another area of So. Cal that is super nice.

Dana Point is still a very upscale and nice area to live. Where they were protesting at is an older area of Dana Point, nearer to San Juan Capistrano and Capistrano Beach.

Excellent placement in the OC Register this AM - Page 2.
Great job, great pictures. I wish I'd known, I could have
rolled down the hill and joined you in 3 minutes.
Please give me a heads-up the next time a freep is planned at the ‘donut’ joint. I've taken pictures of these guys,
and gave them the same one finger salute I gave to
Clinton in D.C. These guys have ruined what is known to
us locals as downtown Capo Beach - and I'm sick of their
leers, and keeping me away from a good donut joint!
