Slight possibility that this is not good news for Obama or Emanuel if the indictment is getting delayed so Blago can cut a deal with Fitzpatrick

Fitzgerald is a political prosecutor who seems to love the spotlight. This doesn’t surprise me.

I’m thinking Fitz screwed up this case. My question is did he do so intentionally?

I think Fitz wants Obama to fire him....which gives him ammo to run for governor in the next election or in the senate race in 2010. I would speculate that as much as the Obama team has planned alot of events like a chess match and have the next five steps for any play figured up....in this case, Fitz owns the board and decides the outcome.

To fire Fitz also drags in the Republican argument of a tainted Obama deal...which means a special prosecutor (we could be barely 90 days into an Obama White House...and already discussing a SP....which is really unusual).

Not a big confidence builder for those who want to deep six “Blago” without a fuss. The ballad of Rod “Blago” Blagoyavich lives on, to be sung another day.

I’m not sure Fitzgerald has enough to indict Blago. As offensive as those tapes are, my lawyer friends tell me, they don’t think he has a case. He was trying to get Blago to resign with all the noise and now is trying to find something which to prosecute him for.

Everyone clearly knows Blago’s drop the appointment of the senate was a great big fingerbird FU right at Obama’s face.

Blago is aiming straight at Obama saying, “don’t think I won’t drop you in it” with the appointment of Burris, it was a shot over the bow. Blago is testing the water of how far he can push it. Blago also knows Obama has left him swinging in the wind. He’s not going to forget it.

"I’m thinking Fitz screwed up this case. My question is did he do so intentionally?"

He had to. Imagine all he could get if he just let it go a few more weeks. Intentionally, you bet.

As sure as I am that Fitzgerald is a friend of the Clintons, I’d be surprised if Madame La Clinton didnt have her hand in it somewhere mixing up a great big poison cake.

I understand why people think that Fitzpatrick went public “early” to protect Obama, Emanuel et al., but don't forget that it has been reported that the Chicago Tribune had been sitting on the story for some time and that it had decided it was no longer keeping it underwraps but was going to publish the story.

This is the primary reason why Fitzpatrick arrested Blago. He didn't want to get scooped by the Trib.

However, a decent D.A. can indict a “ham sandwich” so I think that there are some maneuvers going on under the radar.

Rawhide Lyrics

Stolen’ Stolen’ Stolen

Keep movin’, movin’, movin’,
Though they’re disapprovin’,
Keep that Blago movin’ Rawhide!
Don’t try to understand ‘im,
Just rope and throw and grab ‘im,
Soon we’ll be living high and wide.
Boy my heart’s calculatin’
My POTUS will be waitin’, be waiting at the end of my ride.

Move ‘em on, head ‘em up,
Head ‘em up, move ‘em out,
Move ‘em on, head ‘em out Rawhide!
Set ‘em out, ride ‘em in
Ride ‘em in, let ‘em out,
Cut ‘em out, ride ‘em in Rawhide.

Full Lyrics

Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’
Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’
Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’
Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’
Rawhide!

Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’
Though the streams are swollen
Keep them dogies rollin’
Rawhide!
Rain and wind and weather
Hell-bent for leather
Wishin’ my gal was by my side.
All the things I’m missin’,
Good vittles, love, and kissin’,
Are waiting at the end of my ride

CHORUS
Move ‘em on, head ‘em up
Head ‘em up, move ‘em on
Move ‘em on, head ‘em up
Rawhide
Count ‘em out, ride ‘em in,
Ride ‘em in, count ‘em out,
Count ‘em out, ride ‘em in
Rawhide!

Keep movin’, movin’, movin’
Though they’re disapprovin’
Keep them dogies movin’
Rawhide!
Don’t try to understand ‘em
Just rope, throw, and brand ‘em
Soon we’ll be living high and wide.
My hearts calculatin’
My true love will be waitin’,
Be waitin’ at the end of my ride.

Rawhide!
Rawhide!
