How to ruin a town 101A.

There is so much wrong with this entire picture.

Paying people to do nothing is not only immoral, but it is bad for the deadbeats, who have reduced self-respect and nothing but anger for their dependency. Man is the only animal that bites the hand that feeds him.

Socialism never works and stealing tax money from workers to pay for the housing of deadbeats never helps the deadbeats get over their poverty and certainly does no good to the workers who have their money stolen from them.

Multiculturalism is a fraud. You have a quiet, small city living in peace. Indroduce a new subculture anathema to the work ethic, the desire for eduction, living by the Golden Rule, etc. Now you have envy and anger by the hard workers in the town who see these able-bodied deadbeats partying all day and night and knowing it is the tax money stolen from the hard workers who are paying for free rent, food stamps, assistance, etc.

What a catastrophe. I feel for the older residents of Antioch to have these vermin imposed on them. And this is not a racial issue. If they were white deadbeats, it would be just as bad. I really doubt more than a few of the Antioch residents would mind if a black lawyer had the McMansion down the street and a black docter had the McMansion around the corner, both McMansions being well kept up and beautiful.

It is the subculture of laziness, entitlement, apathy, and arrogance among the low class families in Antioch that are causing this problem, not merely skin color. Funny how I’ve known so many black immigrants from places like Nigeria to Ivory Coast, and being hard-working college graduates who live a moral life and contribute to society, they always fit in and gain acceptance by everyone who is not a true Neo-nazi.

It is not about skin color. It is about a society that has coddled poor people until they feel they are entitled to party 24/7 for free on the backs of the taxpayers and have not a single responsibility to pay back.

It is really overdue time that we tell these poor people, you have 10 years to get your act together and that’s it. If you want to be lazy and jobless we will be happy to let you starve. Of course, we will all need to have our concealed carry licenses by then...

I enjoy your posts on economics, FINF.

Envy, I believe, is heavier on the entitlement side than the side of the Golden Rule. Envy is such a mindless and insidious evil, heartily indulged in our secular society, and feeds the entitlement mentality. Envy is always the bad path.

It is really overdue time that we tell these poor people, you have 10 years to get your act together and that’s it. If you want to be lazy and jobless we will be happy to let you starve.

Two so-simple things would take care of so much -- not everything, just some major stuff. Actually it would be one simple thing's application to two factors. Reduce -- hack to the nub -- Federal government authority and allow each state's government to decide how to regulate commerce and enterprise.

1. Hack employment and wage regulations so that people could employ teenagers and young people freely. Prosperity and productivity would blossom across the board. Real work ethics would be formed. Illegal Mexican immigrants would find themselves with a whole new set of competitors. (Imagine what would happen in conjunction with the Federal government pulling its nose out of entitlement mandates that keep illegals grounded in the U.S. with free education, medicine, food stamps, etc.)

2. Allow people to keep more of their money so they could support the churches and charities that will, as they always have, helped prevent the lazy and jobless from starving and maybe even reforming a few along the way.
