A group advocating separation of church and state is suing to keep prayer out of the Jan. 20 presidential inauguration.

The Madison-based Freedom From Religion Foundation and several of its members are among the 29 plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit filed Monday in Washington, D.C.

The lawsuit seeks to block the Presidential Inaugural Committee from including prayers in the official inauguration. It says clergy have not led prayers at inaugurations for most of the nation's history.

Are they going to knock the Lincoln Bible out of Obama’s hand as well?

I guess they would be O.K. with a few naked tree-huggers prancing around and worshiping Gaia...

I love how all these nut jobs are waiting for Obama to fulfill his promises and do all they voted for him to do and watch him perversely have to stand up for all the American traditions.

Chances are he’ll have a prayer, all the religious trimmings, and usual pomp and ceremony. Which will tick off his fan base, possibly putting him in the no man’s land of politics, the conservatives loathing him and ready to put up all sorts of road blocks while the Liberals pressure him to dismantle more and more things which would lead to an armed revolt.

So, chances are he’ll be forced to take the middle road and deal with the borders and illegals by taking a conservative stance to prevent rage by the regular citizenry, while his Liberal base gets bitterly disillusioned by his refusal/inability to send Republicans and their families to death camps.

Meanwhile we FReepers here sit back and enjoy the show. I never thought of it before, but having an Obama presidency might be amusing if only to watch the Liberal dream implode.

Most people like Annie get that way because they are unattractive and nobody likes them.

When prayer was taken out of public schools, the school systems went to hell. Now they want to take prayer out of the inauguration? Obama needs all the prayer he can get! These people call their organization Free from Religion? Did they forget that we all have FREEDOM OF RELIGION! Who are they to try and get this taken away. Does our constitution even mean anything anymore?!?!?!?!?!?!?

So according to these nuts we should NOT have a prayer from someone from a religion she disagrees with.

But it is OK to NOT have a prayer which supports their religion.

Atheism/Secularism is a religion that worships the creation rather than the creator. When government enforces secularism, it is forcing a state religion on all of us.

Odd she had her photo taken with Isaac Asimov:

Word I heard (InterWebz rumor, YMMV) was that he did not face death well.
