Looking at the Newsweek cover, one things for sure, the media is only going to show us flattering pictures of Obama and after the way they treated Bush it makes me want to puke and I’m no big Bush fan...

In the fullness of time, maybe they’ll show Obama slumped over his desk a la that iconic image of LBJ.

Weight of office, doncha know.

Maybe they’ll show Obama, Axlerod and Rahm standing by the “HMS Investigator” desk with one of the Obama girls peering up from under it a la John-John.

“Obama’s transition team tells Legal Times that Emanuel, the incoming White House chief of staff, has hired W. Neil Eggleston, a partner at Debevoise & Plimpton. Eggleston and Emanuel briefly served together in the Clinton administration in the early 1990s, when Eggleston was associate counsel to the president and Emanuel was a senior adviser.”

Didn’t Rahm supposely make $150mil in salary and bonuses, cooking the books while he was at Fannie Mae? Guess he can afford the representation.

IIRC that was Franklin Raines with the $150M walkaway bonus.

Clinton’s going-away gift to Emanuel was a seat on the quasi-governmental Freddie Mac board, which paid him $231,655 in director’s fees in 2001 and $31,060 in 2000,” Lynn Sweet wrote for the Chicago Sun-Times on Jan. 3, 2002.

...since his successful run for the House of Representatives in 2002, Emanuel has been the beneficiary of campaign cash from Freddie Mac and its sister organization Fannie Mae – $51,750 according to the Center for Responsive Politics Web site OpenSecrets.org.

Emanuel received $25,000 in contributions from Freddie Mac during his first run in 2002 http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=686_1226023478

Emanuel’s ties to Freddie Mac could become especially problematic considering the fact that the company was accused of “illegally using corporate resources between 2000 and 2003 for 85 fundraisers that collected about $1.7 million for federal candidates.”

The Sun-Times is reporting that Blago's aides' cell phones were tapped. So it wasn't just Blago's phones, and it wasn't just land lines.

This makes it ever so interesting for the Obama crew, especially Rahm, who's the ultimate motor-mouth cell phone fanatic.

And now Fitz wants to release "selected" segments of the Blago tapes to the Illinois House impeachment committee. And everyone in the O's inner circle has been told not to talk to the media.

Is there a bigger fish than Blago in sight? Or just more fish?

I doubt that Fitz can out-maneuver the O slicksters, but it would be fun to see him try.

If he bugged some on the other end, like Rahm, it would be a whole new level...a siting US Congressman...Probably not, but it just occurred to me, maybe the Obama report was only a list of calls to/from landlines which were known to be tapped... They listed 6 calls between Rahm and Blago/aides

A new government filing in federal court indicates that in November, authorities tapped the cell phone of “Lobbyist 1.” The Sun-Times has identified lobbyist 1 as Lon Monk, a former top aide to the governor. http://cbs2chicago.com/local/blagojevich.impeachment.effort.2.896186.html

No, Fitz is a conservationist liberal he believes in catch and release for Democrats. He srictly obeys the size and species limits. All Democrats must be released in good condition after being caught.

I believe the Joffrey School of Ballet verified Rahm Emanuel’s bona fides.

After all, Rahm once won a coveted scholarhip to the prestigious school of ballet———he was THAT good in a tutu.

They’re looking awfully “lawyered up” for a bunch of guys that are supposedly not involved, and have already been “absolved”.
