He’s still a person even if we disagree with his politics. Personally, I despise the media circus. I know it comes with the job, but it doesn’t mean he has to sacrifice all privacy with his family to satisfy the insatiable appetites of the media hounds.

It’s no wonder to me that many good people never run for office because they don’t want to go through this sort of media scrutiny.

Boxers or briefs, right?

It's not hard to tell who is willing to 'forgive and forget' that the usurper is a usurper. Hey! Wake up! This man is literally stealing the presidency.

" . . . but it doesn’t mean he has to sacrifice all privacy with his family to satisfy the insatiable appetites of the media hounds."

This guy's every move should be examined under a microscope. He should be hounded until he shows his qualifications for the presidency. And if he is sworn in before that time, this country is going to deserve what it gets. In no time at all Obammy will have no problem with the press scrutinizing him. He'll go into hiding soon enough, unwilling to face the media's questions on the new policies he has planned for the country.

My apologizes ahead of time if I'm wrong. I just see too many FReepers already capitulating, acting as though the dude is a righteous candidate.

When they kneel and worship his every word, he can't get enough camera time....To be real honest I see him as the enemy, purely and simply as the enemy, I could care less about his privacy, I'm damn sure he wont care about mine or yours.

Well, it really does. Did he think it would be different just for him?

Now just imagine if someone had asked that of George Washington.

The heart of the problem is we have a dumbed-down public that is obsessed with celebrity "news" and things of no consequence. So the media focus on what type of sandwich Obama had for lunch and what clothes his wife wore, etc. The same media that could not be bothered investigating Obama's associates are the same people who are obsessed with accurately listing the ingredients of the sandwich he ate for lunch. You will see this when the media cover politicians they support -- they ignore asking tough questions of policy and instead focus on "safe" questions like, "What did you eat for lunch?" and "What is your favorite food?" The media can pretend they are strictly covering Obama while they are only covering superficial, irrelevant things about Obama. And even these superficial things will be spun in the leftist politician's favor. If the politician is seen eating a sandwich, this is hailed as proof of how the politician is one of the common people. If the politician is seen eating caviar, he is praised for being sophisticated.

Contrast this to how the media treat a conservative politician. The conservative politician gets plenty of probing, critical questions. Even the superficial things are given a negative spin. So Sarah Palin's daughter's boyfriend's mother's brush with the law is major news. Obama's close association with all sorts of lawbreakers is not to be mentioned. We have a Soviet-style media, only with American-style glitter and glibness added to it. Kind of the worst of both worlds.

Live by the press, die by the press.
The only reason he will be POTUS is because the press was on it’s knees for him from the beginning.

True, but this guy has tried harder and in more outlandish, attention-getting ways than any other. Tens of thousands for his Berlin speech, the colliseum speech at the convention, Grant Park on election night, pressers nesrly every day for weeks, barechested photos on Christmas vacation (and August vacation too)...
