Russia has thrown down a new gauntlet to Barack Obama with an announcement that it will sharply increase production of strategic nuclear missiles.
In the latest of a series of combative moves by the Kremlin, a senior government official in Moscow said the Russian military would commission 70 strategic missiles over the next three years, as part of a massive rearmament programme which will also include short-range missiles, 300 tanks, 14 warships and 50 planes....

Well I have high hopes for that... NOT! Russia is feverishly replacing it’s nuclear arsenal. That should give everyone hope for peace.

No kidding. Russia is on a crash course to upgrade and modernize its strategic (i.e., nuclear) and tactical forces, rebuild its navy, and obtain leasing rights around the world to build bases. And Odumbo is on record saying he will unilaterally disarm America’s nuclear forces, eliminate missile defense systems, and drastically reduce defense spending. He is on his own crash course to sink America’s ability to defend itself.
A little hedging now that oil is under $50 a barrel. They need it over $80 to maintain a high level of belligerence.
Russia giving Iran only defensive weapons
MOSCOW (AP) — Russia's state arms export agency said Monday it is supplying Iran with defensive weapons, including surface-to-air missiles, but did not say whether they include sophisticated long-range S-300 missiles.
Iranian media reported Sunday that Russia had begun supplying the S-300s — a course of action Israel and the United States have aggressively opposed.
Supplying the advanced missile systems to Iran would markedly change the military balance in the Middle East and the issue has been the subject of intense speculation and diplomatic wrangling for months.
Translation --- Medvedev: “Russia can deal with a Muslim better than with a Christian from Texas! The Muslim will listen to us!”
Putin wasn’t too happy with the Texas BBQ he got when he visited Crawford. Just wait until Medvedev is served soul food in the White House.

I did NOT vote for Obama. I am NOT a fan of Putin (Medvedev). Please, let us not lose perspective: as recently as August, Russian soldiers were plundering TOILETS when they invaded Georgia. Yes, keep a solid watch on Obama, but the Russians (people) are not the focus of evil. We (USA) have bigger fish to fry, elsewhere.
