“We’re in a corrosive death spiral here, folks.”

If more Americans would get a clue, understand that THEIR income and hard work is stolen from them in the form of taxes, too many to list here, and learn how to keep as many of their dollars OUT of the hands of Government, we could bring it to a screeching halt...which is a lovely dream, but just that; a dream.

A dream? Stopping the relentless rise of government?

Well, Reagan couldn’t do it. Thatcher couldn’t do it. I fear Palin in power, even at her best, couldn’t do it.

We’re talking about human nature here — too many people who believe in a free lunch or who are more than happy to live at the expense of others. I fear we’re too far gone at this point. I’m hoping some great leader of Churcillian proportions will pull us out of this descent...

...but Churchill couldn’t stop it either. He won WWII, but he couldn’t stop the UK from going deeper into socialism.

...and they kicked him out of office after the war.

There is about a two-year lag time for the U.S. electorate to comprehend who is really shafting them. In 1992 the Democrats took over the White House with majorities in both houses of Congress. Their slogan was “End congressional gridlock” with one-party control. That ended in 1994 when the GOP took over Congress despite a highly partisan-Democrat news media. As long as Clinton remained in office the Democrats saw their power erode all the way down to the local level. Republicans continued to gain until 2006 when voters could no longer distinguish most of them from Democrats. I think another 1994-style "Vote the Bastards Out" movement is in the offing.
