Santas Disable Enforcement Cameras in Tempe (AZ)

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) _ A group of Santa impersonators are on the naughty list of Arizona law enforcement officials.

A YouTube video posted Monday shows four people dressed as Kris Kringle, white beards and red hats included, covering three speed and red light enforcement cameras in Tempe.

Two are covered with boxes - one decorated with Christmas wrap - and the third is blocked with what appears to be a red sheet.

The Jackson 5's ``Santa Claus is coming to town'' plays during the more than two-minute video.

At the end is a message that reads:

``Ho Ho Ho! Death to the surveillance state! Free movement for all people!''

Kudos to these Santas .... when the money disappears, so do these cameras along with the lame claims of “safety”.

I think Red-Light Cams are ok, but Speed Cams should be stopped now. I wager that Speed Cams will be gone soon.

If you watch the video at the end they also say no to the border fence.

The government put up cameras at every intersection of my little town several years ago. I noticed that the cameras were pointed AT oncoming traffic so I decided to call and find out what was up with that.

I found out that my town government didn’t put the cameras up the state did. So I called the department responsible and asked them if they were using them for traffic enforcement and the gentleman said that they weren’t for traffic enforcement that they were paid for by grants from the Feds and were for surveillance. I asked if if they had facial recognition capability and he said “we don’t have that software YET”.

The state put these up to raise money for our budget that Gov. Napolitano (D) put in the red. That’s what really ticks me off. She way over-spends and then uses these spy cameras to try and raise more money to spend. Thank God she’s headed to Washington D.C. where she’ll be a vivid example of the Peter Principle.

BTW, returning to Phoenix from California via I-10, we spotted one of these cameras out in the middle of nowhere.

They have them on the freeways there. It’s ridiculous!

Im with you, the red light ones I have no problem with. But the speed ones are nothing more than a way to generate money.

I am sure Gov. Napo will try to use DHS to implement nationwide speed cameras. One item, I p*ssed of some liberal yesterday. This woman who moved from Maryland to Colorado a few years ago. In previous conversations with her, she would go back to MD in a minute if she could. I mentioned about Napo becoming chief of DHS and the speed cameras, this woman got pissed at me and she mentioned that she was a democrat and supported Obama. She then walked out !

Time to use these as paintball targets.

Here's how brits have been dealing with the cameras...

Gives you a tiny bit of hope, doesn't it?

Many more examples HERE.
