From Boston??? I'm in Boston, and this morning's news said we're a foot of snow above average for the date! And temperatures have been way below normal!

Yea I saw that yuch. Here is Pitt we have had the cold but the snow has'nt happened yet. But hopefully a pattern change is coming early January with a Greenland block forming and a more condusive pattern for snow in the Mid Atlantic and the Ohio Valley.

We’re heading East from San Jose Wednesday morning early,, the chains are ready.. I expect some delays, we’ll have the old survival kits with just in case. as long as the winds are kind that day, we hopefully will sneak in between the latest forecasted stuff headed inland the next few days.

Thursday now looks to be the heavy snow day, I’m using emigrant gap and truckee for my high sierra info.

Does anyone know or remember how and when precisely this global warming nonsense began? Who was the first nut?

I'm old enough to remember the 70s scare about the coming ice age, which was being hastened IIRC by the use of aerosol sprays (because of the propellant used). Yes -- use hairspray or air freshener and you're bringing on the ice age! Aerosols disappeared for a while (replaced by mechanical pump type things), and then aerosols came back, I guess with a different propellant.

But hairspray and air freshener are really small potatoes compared with with the havoc you can wreak attacking the internal combustion engine and whole utilities!

A homeless person attempts to keep warm in a customized shelter during Sunday's snowstorm

I've got a whole bunch of those "customized shelters" in a box underneath my kitchen sink. They usually come a couple dozen or so to a box. "Hefty" is a popular brand.

Spare us the hyperbolic reporting, AP.

I thought I read somewhere that the Global Warming zealots are claiming that the record COLD temps we are seeing are being caused by Global Warming. I kid you not.

Debating facts with a cultist lib (sorry for redundancy) is like taking a butterfly kiss to a gun fight.

Libs can't be talked away but they must go away. What to do?

BTW, here north of Austin it is currently 35 degrees at 12:42 pm. Dry as a bone. We are supposed to get lower temps and drizzle for the next two nights. Then somewhere around Christmas we are supposed to get,,get this - Thunderstorms!

I love Texas (and I mean that).

There is a Reuters story out today about how this is just more evidence of global warming.
Do you have a link?

Here in N Nevada, there is a sheet of ice on everything. Was warmer early this AM, and a front came across about 5 AM, and turned everything to ice, and then snowed lightly on top of it all. I-80 closed east and west at Mustang, where a fatal accident occurred. Neighbor told me cars were twirling like Olympic skaters at 6 AM.
I wonder if there was snow in Vegas.

He also told me that global warming will only affect the equatorial regions and that in fact, it will cause the northern and southern hemispheres to in fact cool first.

You might want to break it to your friend that he needs to get his religions dogma straight with the other true believers.

■ Warming will occur most over land at high northern latitudes and least over the Southern Ocean and the North Atlantic.

Oh, I’m sure it’s very difficult for him to get it straigh, what with the tenets constantly being altered to avoid reality.

It was -10 last night with strong winds blowing the snow around and creating whiteout conditions in some areas. We’re expecting a high of 4 degrees today with another winter storm on the way for tonight.

Global warming my @ss.

That guy better watchout! His CO2 concentration have probably quadrupled underneath that thing. He could burst into flames at any minute from the increased radiative forcing.

Ho Ho HO...Merry Christmas....and STOP calling me that!

Yeah...here in NE IL we’ve got 10 inches of snow on the ground, Sat and Sun the temp was -5DegF with -35DegF wind chill factors. Tonight and into Tues and Wed, we’re expecting two more waves of snow/sleet wintry mix...

I’m on my second 2gallons of petrol to power the globull warming thrower and clear the drifts from the driveway and sidewalks again.

I love it! This is the MOST snow we’ve had in like 20 years or more.

Why, back in the day when I was a kid, we had over 120 inches of snow every winter...then in ‘83, that darn Mount Pinatubo in Phlippalines had to go blow up and Mounted Saint Helen too!

Merry Merry Merry Merry Christmas!
Merry Merry Merry Merry Christmas!
Ding Dong Ding Dong

TAKE HEED YE DENIERS!

YOUR REFUSAL TO BELIEVE THE TRUTH AND TO ACCEPT ENORMOUS NEW TAXES TO PAY FOR GLOBAL WARMING AND YOUR FAILURE TO BUY HUGE AMOUNTS OF COSTLY CARBON OFFSETS HAS LED THE GORE OF GORES TO BRING DOWN ICE AND SNOW AND SLEET AND ALL MANNER OF FROZEN PRECIPITATION UPON YOUR UNWORTHY SELVES. REPENT NOW AND ACKNOWLEDGE THE WISDOM OF GORE OR FOREVER SUFFER IN A FROZEN HELL!

on the other hand, you can just wait a few months and Spring will arrive.

Here in West Texas, it is warm and dry (today is cold, but tomorrow it will get warm again). I miss my Kansas snow a bit, but much of the snow has hit the northern part of the country. Aside from some freak snow in New Orleans and Houston last week, really the snow has been hitting the very northern tier of the country without much impact farther south.
