In the winter of 2000, the Journal of the American Medical Association published the results of a study indicating that 200,000 two- to four-year-olds had been prescribed Ritalin for an attention disorder from 1991 to 1995. Judging by the response, the image of hundreds of thousands of mothers grinding up stimulants to put into the sippy cups of their preschoolers was apparently not a pretty one. Most national magazines and newspapers covered the story; some even expressed dismay or outrage at this exacerbation of what already seemed like a juggernaut of hyper-medicalizing childhood. The public reaction, however, was tame; the medical community, after a moments pause, continued unfazed. Today, the total toddler count is well past one million, and influential psychiatrists have insisted that mental health prescriptions are appropriate for children as young as twelve months. For the pharmaceutical companies, this is progress.

I think the DEA teachers union is in bed with the pharmaceticals, because usually it’s the teacher that want kids on the medicine once they hit school.
200,000 two- to four-year-olds
how many male vs female
I’d imagine quite a high percentage of males. The article is worth a read in entirety. It’s a fair critique, not a whack-job polemic.
You can thank the pedophiles for this.
It takes a male role model to help a young boy enjoy learning but male teachers are being scared away or turned away by the administration because of fear of child molestation allegations. The female teachers mean well but they usually know absolutely nothing about how boys learn.
It’s just one more example of evil gaining continual victories. Destroy the life of a child through molestation and then destroy a million more by infecting the nation with paranoia.
America’s youth needs those ADD drugs. The classwork, rules, and teaching methods are so boring, it’s the only way they can sit still, wait for permission, and pay attention at the same time.
Doctors told me 20 yrs ago to put my son on Ritalin & I refused. I took all sugar & junk foods away & saw a big improvement. I don’t believe in drugging children unless it is a last resort.
I coached a 12U baseball team last year and I kid you not, out of 12 kids I had two players that were not on a drug. My son and one other boy.
The really strange thing was I would hardly ever see the dad’s at ball games, it was always the mom’s.
That and enough exercise and discipline.
The only reason to drug them is to get them to sit still and behave in school, not the most natural setting for kids to be forced into in the first place.
Exactly!
The thing about human culture is that when something isn’t done very often, it becomes stigmatized. Men are getting less and less interested in the lives of their children. As a result, people don’t know what to make of those who even appear to be interested and caring.
There are some things about this country that I truly hate.
Rx Nation- are our children being medicated to death?

Explains why the young are for O’Bama.
I thought the same thing.
