In one of the more incisive indictments of the MSM I've witnessed, certainly by one of its own, Joe Scarborough tore into the media this morning for its failure to have investigated Barack Obama's political roots. In particular, the Morning Joe host ripped the MSM for not testing the truth of Ryan Lizza's reporting, above, of Rahm Emanuel's claim that he and Obama were central figures in Blago's 2002 gubernatorial campaign. Scarborough pointed out that already this summer, when the Lizza article appeared, it was known that Blago was under a deep ethical cloud. Yet the MSM charged off to Wasilla to investigate Sarah Palin's librarian, utterly uninterested in the report of Obama's intimate link with America's most corrupt governor. John Harwood of NYT/CNBC and Mike Barnicle played the perfect foils for Scarborough's impassioned tirade, Barnicle going so far as to claim that no investigation was necessary: his "instinct" told him that Emanuel had overstated Obama's involvement with Blago's campaign.

The DBM’s complete and total failure to perform the job that THEY claim to be uniquely qualified to perform is the very reason that media outlets such as newspapers, news magazines, and national television news departments are losing subscribers and viewers by the score.
Worse, these media elites are so wrapped up in their own egos, they are unable to comprehend America’s distrust of them.
This past election cycle should be reason enough . . . . . . . . but they’re too busy patting themselves on the back for the outstanding work they did. They got someone other than Bush elected (without seeming to understand that Bush couldn’t run for a 3rd term), manipulated the news to force John McCain on the Republican Party and manipulated it even more to get the Obamessiah elected. I can only hope that, as a result of their arrogance and cynicism, they are hoist by their own petard as the result of (potential) Obama policies that tightly control what they can/cannot report.
Meantime, I applaud Joe Scarborough for laying blame where it decisively belongs.
So do I. I didn't think they went there on MSNBC. I may rethink my decision to not listen to him when he comes to WABC radio.

Not only that, but we’re expected to believe that the same cesspool of Chicago political leaders endorsed Obama and worked hard to get him elected, all the while KNOWING that he wasn’t corrupt and willing to be further corrupted by their deals and schemes. KNOWING that they would be unable to coerce him to deal and scheme with them, KNOWING they would be receiving no corrupt benefit from his election, they still wanted him to be President.

I saw that segment and I was dumbfounded that the stupidest man in broadcasting (Barnicle) was capable of actually reaching a new low with his ridiculous defense of the MSM in the tank for B. Hussein.
I agree. Black conservatives cease to be black if they don’t drink the liberal kool aid. HOWEVER, all things being equal as liberals, black libs are given a wider swath of negatives before they are thrown under the bus (e.g., Charlie “do I really have to pay taxes” Rangel, and others).
