Zero obviously had knowledge of the investigation - - that's why he was going to meet with the FBI. I think it was the timing of the arrest that surprised him. In fact, Zero may have tipped off some of the targets that he was going to the meet in the first place and touched base with people prior to that scheduled meet for the purpose of comparing stories to, you know, make sure everybody told the same one. And maybe Fitz was aware of this and sprung the arrest in order to prevent some note-swapping...

I smell trouble for Zero here - - unless Fitz is working to protect him.

Technically the POTUS is the ultimate source of all classification authorities within the federal government. There is no higher authority to “clear” the President.

GWB could and probably did give Zer0 Super A-#1 Megagalactic clearance to know everything and anything in the classification domain.
