You are probably right. Watergate, by 2008 standards, consisted merely of minor hardball tactics, and never did have constitutional ramifications as so often bruited about by the rabid liars of the left.

Emanuel is one of those “leaders” that most liberal Democrats outside of IL don’t know, but those who know him have total faith in him. Their faith will never be shattered. As EMK long ago said, “The dream lives on!”
It seems to me though that most of America’s liberal Democrats don’t give a rat’s $$$ about corruption so long as their federal program check arrives in the mail.
My thoughts are, yes, Rahm was the go between, the deal maker, and when 0bama caught wind of the investigation, he told her to back off and he would make her his CoS. Rahm’s busted.
Question: 0bama admitted to knowing of the investigation, but not where it was at or that a wiretap was in place. Would it be illegal for him not to tell Fitz about a monetary offer or bribe from Blago, if he knew?
Look, this thing was out there for almost two full days before Obama's comment yesterday that as far as he knew, none of his staff had been in contact with Blago.
Who is the very first person Obama would have spoken to upon finding all this out? His Chief of Staff---Rahm Emanuel. Would Emanuel have lied to Obama about his contacts? Obviously not.
His staff may have done something illegal. His response was to cover it up. And that is exactly what cost Richard Nixon his presidency.
GWB is absolutely committed to getting a Democrat (anyone) to say nothing nice about him before noon on January 20, 2009. Looks like he won’t make it!

It looks like the Prosecutor worked to prevent anyone other than Blago from being ensnared. They are going to go at Blago with both Barrels and some borderline illegal stuff - all while making excuses why Jesse Jackson Jr’s involvment was innocent and the White House was totally clueless.
This is taking shape - it’s everyone out for Blago’s head - if they can discredit him even further than the info he has can’t hurt the cherished Democratic Future of the Party.
