Sorry pal, it is foreigners, like yourself, who are the rude drivers in Texas. Outside of the city traffic, real Texans will move to the shoulder to let someone pass, but as outsiders move in, you don’t see that much anymore. Drive out to West Texas and I guarantee you will have folks move over for you.... but thanks for being one of those idiots who move into our State and then call us names.

Getting over in Texas is going by the wayside.

Out Alpine way they still do that. Not much here in Central Texas

those large shoulders are just for that for the pokies to get outta the way.

And as you pass em up your supposed to wave as a gesture of thanks.

Not flash your flashers at em.

I am in West Texas, and people here say it is much worse than back east in DFW....

Now, on some highways, they do move over. I have been very impressed with that on roads in which you only have one lane to go on and people will move over. Very nice.

I am talking about I-20 and Midland/Odessa city limits.

You said — “Outside of the city traffic, real Texans will move to the shoulder to let someone pass, ... “

I can confirm that, as when I came down to Texas for a while (a number of years) from Oregon, I found that out when going up through Commerce and Paris and up to the Indian Nation Turnpike in Oklahoma. That’s where I first noticed it. People would drive on the wide shoulders and let me pass on by (we’re talking about two-lane roads)....

And the other interesting thing was that those two-lane Texas roads/highways had driveways coming straight out to the road from houses along the road — but — they had 70 MPH speeds signs on those roads. I appreciated that, because you could really “make some times” on some of those (so-called) back roads... LOL...
