Bout freakin’ time!! When I was assigned to the European Command and was driving the Autobahn in Germany the German Polizei would pull you over in a heartbeat if you were slowing down traffic in the left lane.
Can’t tell you how many times I have wanted to slap the sheiza out of lane nannies here in Maryland.

The gripe here is on the open freeway where you find both (or all three) lanes all moving the same speed and no open lane remaining to pass because tatsinfla and his cousins all have their Continentals on cruise control in the left hand lane with the cute little dog riding in their lap.
That is a HUGE problem on the Merritt/Wilburcross parkway.

"...you sir have proven that you think the laws on speed limits do not apply to you...":-)
I live in Connecticut where the state troopers set the example by driving a MINIMUM of 80 on the freeway every time I've ever seen them.
Don't be concerned about the fines I pay, that's my business and the speed I choose to drive is none of yours so long as I'm not impacting you in anyway.
Attitudes like yours are how nanny states are kept in business.

Those same troopers who rush to find a good hiding spot on Route 9 When the GHO (Greater Hartford Open) is on so they can nail unsuspecing out-of-staters with a $400 ticket?
I no longer live in Connecticut, but the DMV was more of a driving force for that than the troopers per se. (Believe it or not, outside of Chicago, Illinois is MUCH more friendly to car owners).

did you ever stop to thank that the troopers drive faster than the flow of traffic so then can monitor the traffic looking for speeders such as yourself...they aren’t there to set the pace for ya....
To: tatsinfla
check the laws in all 50 states and get back to me on that would ya... Most states have some law requiring vehicles to keep right unless passing. They vary from state to state.
The Uniform Vehicle Code states: " Upon all roadways any vehicle proceeding at less than the normal speed of traffic at the time and place and under the conditions then existing shall be driven in the right-hand lane then available for traffic ... "
Note that it says "less than the normal speed of traffic." It says nothing about whether the normal speed of traffic is slower or faster than the posted speed limit.
All of the states in the US are members of the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Laws and Ordinances who publish the Uniform Vehicle Code, though not all of the states have implemented the Code completely.
For instance, Florida 316.081(2) states:
Upon all roadways, any vehicle proceeding at less than the normal speed of traffic at the time and place and under the conditions then existing shall be driven in the right-hand lane then available for traffic or as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway except when overtaking and passing another vehicle proceeding in the same direction or when preparing for a left turn at an intersection or into a private road or driveway.
So, if you're tooling along in the left lane of the highway with your cruise control on and another vehicle comes up behind you, you have to get over into the right hand lane.
Failure to do so is a violation of Florida law.

If you are in the left lane and not passing, you are breaking the law.

The red light dawdlers get to me. There's two kinds of them. One sits at a short green and when the light turns green slowly pulls out to maximize the distance from the car in front. He/she gets out and that's all that matters as they have all day. Three of them together and that's all that gets out. The other is the one who starts slowing down way before an obvious green light until it turns yellow then quickly speed up leaving you behind to catch it while they go on.
Ah yes one more. The persons who insist on pulling out from a side road when you are very close and then poke along in front of you. They were in an all fired hurry to pull out in front of you but then make you stand the car on end because Pokey won't then speed up he's out there.

did you ever stop to thank that the troopers drive faster than the flow of traffic so then can monitor the traffic looking for speeders such as yourself...they arent there to set the pace for ya.... Think, for a second, about the stupidity of this post. If they are travelling faster than the flow of traffic, how would they ever find someone who is also going faster than the flow of traffic?

Most of us understand the law and common courtesy, and aren’t d!ckheads who ride the left lane, being a-holes.
Pass in the psssing lane, then move right into the travel lane. It’s easy, it’s the law, and it’s the courteous thing to do.
