Sorry to get back to you late.

From what I can tell, Madelyn Dunham made no appearances, no interviews and no statements over the past few years about her grandson. There was a news story on one of the local TV channels that showed photos and did interviews with some of her former Bank of Hawaii employees and coworkers about Madelyn and not Obama. But no Madelyn Dunham live interviews on any forum.

Although Obama claims he had had a close relationship with his grandmother, he only spent an hour or so with her prior to the election and when she fell and broke her hip, was hospitalized, released and died of cancer a week later (two days before the election), there was still nothing from Obama other than he would head to Hawaii to attend services in December. Well, the services were held a couple weeks ago.....so go figure.

He's heading this way soon but I don't think it's to visit the graveside of grandma.

I don’t live on Oahu (although I once did for ten years) and don’t buy the Advertiser or the Star Bulletin so I wouldn’t have seen it. I’m sure that there must have been something in the papers since Madelyn was a well liked and well known Bank of Hawaii manager. It was on the local news stations over here, that’s about it.

I'm afraid that merely showing his original BC and it reading he was born in Hawai'i will not settle his dual citizenship issues. If he applied for student aid or entry to college or traveled using claims of citizenship from Indonesia or Kenya, he has shown split loyalties and would have made himself ineligible.

So, more documents than just his actual certificate of origin will be necessary at this stage in order to truly put all the questions to rest. ... His squad knows this now, or have learned it from following their well placed querieds on threads like this one.

Just realized that in '61, there was no such thing as "Kenyan Citizenship." He would have been a British subject! Playing "Devil's Advocate," I fear that that given the trend of "equal rights," an unmarried American would (might) now be held capable of passing citizenship on to her bastard child.

There is no precendent, particularly in using a challenge to citizenship to overturn the results of a completed election.

Lack of precedent only means it hasn't been done before. Not having been done before is not a reason to not pursue it now.

There is no precedent for anyone but a truly natural born citizen (i.e., born in American territory and having a father who is an American Citizen) or someone grandfathered by Article 2, having ever been U.S. President.
