The former Ford CEO Jacques Nasser made it company policy that white males would not be getting any promotions in 2001. It took almost 15 minutes for that bombshell to reverberate from Detroit to San Diego where Ford had a partnership with Qualcomm called Wingcast. The collective response was, "Oh, yeah? Quitting time is 4:30 PM. I'm not working another second. No more going the extra mile to ensure success. Screw me? Screw you!

I bought a new F250 diesel in 2001. If I'd have known that, I'd have let them find some black or hispanic or oriental or whatever to sell it to.

That said, it's been a good truck - still going strong with 170,000 miles.
