I doubt any local police force would stand up against what was basically a Special Op’s force. There were brave Indians who gave their lives to stop this attack, they acted with courage, and the political leadership acted faster than the US government would have. We’d still be negotiating and sending in donuts.

I doubt any local police force would stand up against what was basically a Special Op’s force. At Columbine, they abandoned school children and teachers, all unarmed, to a couple of teenage gunmme.

Thank God no police were hurt, only children and teachers killed. It could have been a tragedy.

Sounds like the terrorists just rolled over any police that got in their way. Kind of like putting the Mayberry police up against a Navy Seal team.

Again , I am putting my reputation as a cop basher in jeopardy , but LEOs in the Treasure Valley area of Idaho will shoot back , reload , and engage the targets until their basic carry load is expended . I guaranty .

Back in the 1990's. pistol armed LA Police did a pretty good job bottling up those machinegun armed bank robbers until SWAT teams could arrive.

Then there was the FBI agents in Miami who went up against machinegun armed bank robbers in the 1980's. Of course, that shootout didn't go well for the FBI agents but still, the FBI agents didn't hesitate to do their jobs.

Get the typical American gun owner within 300 yards and give them a good rifle, and they could paste 3 inch groups on the gunmans' noggins all afternoon.

If you’re talking about the US, I think you’re dead wrong. Every US LEO I know would engage mooks like that until out of ammo. Which could take a while....

Be nice if such "police" would tell you this BEFORE they took their first paycheck...

what was basically a Special Op’s force.

Where'd you get this from?

My understanding is that they were 15 20-something year olds that were split up into teams of 2. Their training was at 2nd class terror training camps in pak.

You have other information that they were the equivalent of Green Beret's/Navy Seals, I'd really like if you'd point me to the links to verify that assertion.

If the cops were too buffalo'd to take out a team of two, then they shouldn't have been drawing paychecks in the first place.

If there's no difference between a cop and a civilian, why bother to have cops?

Terrorists are in no way to be considered "special operations forces!" They're armed bozos willing to die just so they can execute Jihad for a murdering pedophile that lived and died 1500 years ago. Jeeze have you ever seen the AQ "training videos?" A group of tango's run room to room in a deserted building somewhere in the middle of nowhere west Pakistan and toss grenades before entering to spray rooms with AK47s on full auto. No coordination, no fluidity, no cover or concealment. Let's just run around and slaughter the sheep! Got news, my IDPA club could smoke 'em!

This is a run up, this change in tactic away from suicide vests to firearms and grenades. This one is coming SOON to a crowded shopping mall near you. The tango that was captured (too chicken to OFF himself before capture like a good little Jihadi) said that the goal was to kill 5000. Easily accomplished in a multi-pronged attack on several packed malls around the country in certain target areas where there already exist sleeper cells. I'll bet this one has been planned since the 2004 election. My guess is that sometime in the next 25 days we're gonna get hit. In exactly this fashion.

Likely results? Well if the terrorists use assault rifles and hand grenades, you'll see the new President take his hand off the Bible or Quiran and sign already passed legislation that will not only ban but confiscate so called Assault Weapons lawfully owned by a lot of Americans. He'll have a mandate and it will take a lot of pressure off him to act in a positive manner on the economy. That operation will allow him to soften the focus on a lot of campaign promises. The eyes of the populace will be focused on those nutty gun owners. I promise you, he'll have 95% of his liberal base and a whole lot of independents (fiscal conservatives, social liberals) standing to back his play.

The wild card? Armed citizens ready to act like the SHEEPDOGS they are. We can dissipate the effects by standing ready to act when the first ALLAH HU AKBAR splits the air and the gunfire follows. The OBAMANATION will have to pause just a little bit if an attack is even partially stymied by armed sheepdogs ready to meet the threat.

Police don't want any Human Right Commission investigation. 15 days back Mumbai killed they killed a gun wielding lunatic on Bus and they are now facing HRC inquiry without pay.

Few days later it was revealed that the 20,000 "police" in the Mubai region (which has 70 million+ people) have about 552 firearms.

First of all, I am simply amazed that 70 million people can be policed anywhere with only 20,000 police.

Secondly, it's gotta' be really difficult to do if 19,448 of those police have no firearms.
