The Guantanamo picture is getting clearer and uglier
The Collins Report ^ | Nov. 28, 2008 | Kevin “Coach” Collins

Posted on 11/28/2008 5:27:33 AM PST by jmaroneps37

The Russians have started the push that might come to shove and the heat has been turned up on Barack Obama. Because of the sagging price of oil, the Russians have to do something or watch their country slip into anarchy. They need a crisis to move oil prices back up and Cuba is a very handy place to ferment one.

They are probing Obama for weakness with President Dmitry Medvedev’s just concluded four country visit to South America.

He stopped in Peru and Brazil but his real targets were Venezuela and Guantanamo Cuba.

In oil rich Venezuela Medvedev talked with America hater Hugo Chavez, basically as a pot stirrer, but Cuba was his main concern.

The Castro brothers are sitting on a piece of land that the Russians, now more than ever, find very interesting.

Yesterday the Czech Republic approved our offer to build them a missile defense system and this infuriated the Russians. They know we understand their long range plans to reestablish Eastern Europe as a Russian slave colony and they are willing to answer our challenge to their dreams. The problem for us is our challenge will be made by a poodle against a Russian bear. Medvedev went to Cuba to get a Guantanamo as a nuclear missile base to blackmail us with.

The signs are there. Castro wants to meet Obama on “neutral territory” and is suggesting Guantanamo as the site. Castro will be measuring the windows for Vladimir Putin’s new office.

The Russians will wait until their useful idiot friends in America’s Left pressure Obama into closing the prisoner of war facility on Castro’s island and then just walk in and set up shop.

This will give them a perfect counter to the Czech missile defense system. It will also end badly for America.

If Obama backs down and just lets the Castro brother sell the Russians Gitmo we are in deep trouble. If keeps it open and functioning as usual, he is in political trouble. I think I know which way he'll go. Don't you?

It is one thing to close down Gitmo’s post-911 prison. It’s another thing to break the perpetual lease that Castro has been payed for. Has Obama stated that he would give back (end leasing) Guantanamo?

It is actually quite funny.

Obama's media sycophants love to compare him to JFK. They may be right. Pooty-poot seems to be trying to take a Mulligan on the Cuban Missile Crisis. And Barry may prove to be just the right chump to let him do it.

I think the author is using his creative license to manufacture a story.

Why? The entire conventional Russian military stationed in Guantanamo Bay wouldn't pose a credible threat to the US.

If keeps it open and functioning as usual, he is in political trouble. I think I know which way he'll go. Don't you?

What goes on there is a stain on (what's left of) our national honor, and we'll be condemned for it by the judgement of history, and by the judgement of God.

You maybe, but not me - I see little difference in getting vaporized 5 minutes after someone presses a button, as opposed to getting vaporized 30 minutes after the button is pressed.

If it scares you, maybe you now know how the Russians feel after almost 20 years of helplessly watching the US try to surround their nation with a hostile military alliance.

You realize that even if the prison on Gitmo is closed it will still be a US Navy base, right?

Oh yeah, because God knows a defensive systems is EXACTLY the same as an OFFENSIVE system. Where did you get your education? You seem to have absolutely zero discernment.

The Russians will be dangerous in the near future, they need oil above $60/barrel to balance their budget.

Otherwise, they will create crises in various hotspots... soon in Sevastapol, Ukraine.

If it’s a nuclear exchange you are worried about, the US would fare very well - however, Russia would be devastated.

In the US, the inner cities have been turned into third world cesspools, so if the Russians nuke a bunch of them it will be like flushing a huge toilet. The ghettos will be gone and a lot of left-leaning Democrats will be gone with them. The US is VERY dispersed OUTSIDE of cities. The productive and Republican population of the US is NOT concentrated in the cities anymore.

The Russian economy and intelligentsia is concentrated in cities. The US counterattack would erase them and there would be nothing left of Russia except for starving, barefoot, toothless, TB-ridden cretins in the oblasts.

Of course, if Obambi is President, who knows how it can end. He might help the Russians destroy America.

Disagree with Gitmo going to the Ruskies however Russia's recent activity into Latin America is most certainly a probe of the future Obama administration. The Russians will try to take a mile one foot at a time.
