President-elect Barack Obama and his former general election rival, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz), have come to an agreement on immigration, Senate Majority leader Harry Reid told the Detroit Free Press in a recent interview. Reid said the two standard-bearers have agreed to move forward on immigration legislation during Obama's White House tenure. "On immigration, there's been an agreement between Obama and McCain to move forward on that," Reidsaid when how Congress would handle immigration and healthcare with expanded Democratic majorities and Obama in the White House. Early on in their general election campaign, both McCain and Obama pledged to enact sweeping immigration reforms. McCain attempted to pass a massive immigration bill during the last Congress, forging alliances with such heavyweights as Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) and President Bush. McCain proposed granting a pathway to citizenship for illegal resident aliens and ramping up security efforts along the U.S./Mexico border. The effort failed. When asked if immigration reform would cause "as much of a fight" in Congress the next time it comes up, Reid cited McCain as a key GOP ally who could enable Democrats to enact reforms. "We've got McCain and we've got a few others. I don't expect much of a fight at all," Reid said. The Detroit Free Press posted Reid's interview to its website Sunday.
For what? Treason?
They stand for permanently ending the conservative movement.
Ya all should be happy McCain and smooching Huckabee got Romney knocked out of the race...
why?
I think hes being darkly sarcastic.
Who the crap cares what these 2 idiots think????
Who the crap cares what these 2 idiots think????
McCain and Hussein are united in their hatred of Americans.
I don’t care what they think. I care about what they’re about to legislate!
Sort of why I was dreading a McCain presidency (even though I voted for him and hoped he’d be better than a Dem in the WH.) I knew the frustration he would cause would drive my BP way up.
.....”I don’t expect much of a fight at all,”....
Is that so? Think again....
McCain lost his Senate Bill 2611 and, in case you hadn’t noticed Reid....he was NOT supported in his bid for POTUS either. American’s will continue to fight the CFR/OBL for the sovereignty and security of our country. With the exception of open borders/pro-slave labor RHINO’s, we will unite to defeat any attempts at any kind of amnesty, by any ‘name’, for any illegal aliens.
From what I am understanding, nothing, for a while anyway. Which follows Bambi’s present vote in the Senate. I think that he will make no decisions. And his campaign promises are history. (Could be wrong)
With a Dem-controlled Congress, Romney would have done what he did in Mass.....pass gay marriage and gov't healthcare.
Stop the nonsense that Romney is any more conservative than McCain.
It’s time we had another Sensenbrenner/Hunter type legislator step up to the plate and introduce the EXACT OPPOSITE of what these two traitors will try to enact.
I’m all for it being a FELONY to be in my country illegally. And there should be no excuses for Hunter’s double fence to be completed as written and passed into law.
It’s time our CURRENT immigration laws were enforced.
Nothing new. Move on. These two pathetic figures agree on:
1. Amnesty;
2. Global warming;
3. Taxes;
4. Health care and
5. Hatred of Bush.
Hairy Reed is delusional.

A Democrat Congress that passed the $700 billion bail-out that was just as unpopular as Amnesty, will pass Amnesty
Canada’s economy and dollar are strong. Perhaps we should be long on the peso!
Quisling McCain means no filibuster.
Yeah, I know.
They already have a 60 vote filibuster proof majority.
Mexico, on the other hand, is not so generous when its national sovereignty is being violated. Since 1974, anyone found entering Mexico illegally is subject to two years of incarceration, if they are lucky. For years Mexican troops on Mexicos southern border have used land mines and assault rifles to deter Central American immigrants from entering Mexico. Anyone trying to cross Mexicos southern border illegally can be killed with little or no notice to the media.
All 3 need to report to Levenworth for the early sweepin and moppin detail. What is it about the word ‘’illegal’’ these turds don’t get?
President-elect Barack Obama and his former general election rival, Sen. John McCain (RINO-Ariz), have come to an agreement on immigration=Do nothing about it.
McCain should be beat down like the dog he is.
Mitt knocked himself out with HIS MASS HEALTHCARE
It’s amazing people voted for either one of these amnesty lovers.
I’m sure it took Juan McLame about ten seconds to hammer out that agreement. He may have fought for the country once, but he doesn’t hesitate to betray it if he thinks it will by him some raciists votes.
Now I remember why I only voted for McCain when I absolutely had to. He is done, a bad chapter in Republican history. Good bye and good riddance.
Romney = sanctuary.
Romeny = RINO
One RINO is not the answer for the problems created by another.
It is a felony.
I agree with most of the responses here so far that McCain is a problem. Although, Newt’s “Real Change” gives a good glimpse into why he is a problem. He’s one of those who spent the majority of his career in the minority, and he has a minority mindset. It’s not that he isn’t a conservative, he’s in the habit of compromising his beliefs to the point where he ends up giving up way too much to get somewhere.
He didn’t win because he isn’t any kind of leader and can’t even disguise himself as one like Obama did so well.
Even if the Dem's pick up the two pending senate seats in Minnesota and Georgia, I think having a filibuster proof majority will be issue dependent. As an example, there are some RINOS in the Republican party that will probably align themselves with the Dem's on environmental legislation. There are Blue Dog Dem's that will probably align themselves with Republicans on any upcoming anti-gun legislation. So, it remains to be seen whether or not Pelosi and Reed will be able to jam through whatever legislation they desire at will.
What do we have more of in this country, A)Unemployed people who are part of the official statistic for unemployment, or B) Illegal Aliens who hold jobs??
If you get the right answer, we will send you a home version of our game. Just leave a credit card number and telephone number so we can ensure delivery.
Now we know why immigration was not mentioned by either during the campaign. It’s going to be a long four years, eight if the GOP presents us with another nose-holder-voter.
Problem is, of course, that our laws mean nothing any more. President-elect may not be qualified according to the Constitution? Election laws are broken? Who cares...Our borders are wide open but US citizens can’t get in without a passport...and we continue to fight terrorism abroad while allowing organized gangs to run rampant through our cities. There’s no consistency here, laws aren’t enforced in a way that makes sense, and our government cannot be counted on to protect its citizens.

The final surrender of American sovereignty to Mexico. If we were going to surrender to someone, why couldn’t it have been to a country that at least has some accomplishments in its resume, instead of to a third-world toilet populated by miscreants like Mexico?

We are going to get over 15 million invaders declared fellow countrymen.
It galls me to no end.
That in and of itself is an amazing statement.
That the American people have to engage Congress to protect our Nation's security and sovereignty is quite telling.
Somewhere, the tree of Liberty is calling and the words are getting louder and clearer.
You meant to tell me that Mac still can’t figure out which side his bread is buttered on? than Damn him!
Wrong romney never paased gay marriage!
but than you Mitt haters were never too good had seeking out what really took place,
You are correct. However, he did sign gov't healthcare into law. That is enough to disqualify him.
you forget every one had to pay their own way there was no free lunch Mitt made it affordable by removing some goverment red tape and the poor received the same assistance as the system we have now which is a good system.
