SNIPPET: “NEW DELHI: Indian police have arrested a key suspect accused of co-ordinating the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks in which 166 people were killed and more than 300 wounded, media reports said Monday.
The Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency quoted unnamed police sources as confirming the arrest of Abu Hamza, also known as Sayed Zabiuddin, an Indian-born member of the Pakistani militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Hamza was allegedly one of the handlers based in Karachi, Pakistan who issued instructions by telephone to the 10 gunmen as they stormed two luxury hotels, a Jewish centre, a restaurant and a train station in Mumbai.
Hamza, who has used a string of aliases, was arrested at Delhi international airport on June 21 when he arrived from the Middle East and he has since been remanded in custody, PTI reported.”

SNIPPET: “June 25, New Delhi: The Delhi Police on today arrested suspected key 26/11 Mumbai attacks plotter Abu Hamza at the Indira Gandhi International airport. Sources say Hamza was arriving in Delhi from the Gulf.
According to police sources, the suspect – identified as Syed Jabeeudeen alias Sayeed Zabi ud Deen alias Zabi Ansari alias Riyasat Ali– is believed to have provided assistance to 26/11 terrorists.
He is reported to be involved with the Indian Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba terror groups. The suspect had been on the run since 2006 when he went to Pakistan, Indian media claimed.
He was active with SIMI for 2 years before moving on to Lashkar. He is also a key suspect in the 2006 Mumbai Local Train blast. Over 180 were killed in Mumbai Local attack.”

Key Mumbai plotter arrested in Saudi Arabia

SNIPPET: “A key suspect in the November 2008 Mumbai attacks, Sayed Zabiuddin Ansari, was arrested in Saudi Arabia earlier this month and then turned over to Indian authorities.
Also known as Abu Jundal and Abu Hamza, Ansari has reportedly made significant admissions implicating members of the Pakistani army and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency in the planning of the attack. The Mumbai siege was orchestrated by Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a longtime proxy of Pakistan’s military and intelligence establishment.”
