New wrinkle in recount: missing ballots
Minneapolis Star Tribune ^ | 11/25/8 | KEVIN DUCHSCHERE

A new wrinkle is surfacing today in the recount battle in Minnesota between incumbent U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman and challenger Al Franken -- missing ballots.

The Franken campaign today said that it has learned of missing ballots totaling several hundred in various counties. Franken recount attorney Marc Elias said he's also bothered that counties that know they have missing ballots aren't bothering to look for them.

Elias declined to identify those counties but acknowledged that the Franken campaign is monitoring reports of several dozen missing ballots in Becker County.

Officials can determine they have missing ballots whenever they come up with fewer paper ballots than what the electronic Election Night vote total was for the U.S. Senate race.

In Crystal, officials there say they have found eight absentee ballots, still sealed in their security envelopes, that had not been counted on Nov. 4. The ballots, which were subsequently included in the city's recount, increased Democrat Franken's total by seven votes and Republican Coleman's by one. The envelopes were discovered Friday night among opened envelopes, a city spokeswoman said.

If they are missing, how do they know that they are Franken’s?........

And of course, the only ballots “missing” are those for Franken, right?

How hard would it be to have another election?

I hate Al Francheese’n’bacon, But I’m sure I’m not alone.

It’d be worth it to Minn. taxpayers to pay for a runnoff, just to shut Al up.

And by that token, maybe I’d shut up if we had a nonrigged national election, but then again, who’s counting....

They sure are right when they refer to this unfunny, pathetic, crooked goon as a “comic.”

That is drawback to being honorable. A person with no morals will always be willing to cheat to win. A person of honor would lose to stay honorable. Just have to be willing to accept the big red “L” on our foreheads. That and tall fences to keep us inside while they Godless run amok.

Will they call it an education, or reeducation camp?

I understand that there is an entire uncounted box.

It was found in the trunk of the Santa Fe County Clerk’s car in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They are sending it to Minnesotta as I post.

Also, the King County Clerk is checking her basement in Seattle, just in case.

"The Franken campaign today said that it has learned of missing ballots..."

Translation: The Franken/DNC team is scared they are losing this one. Time to pull a bunny out of their collective butt and call it a love story.

I’ve got them.

I admit it.

They’ve been in my basement since November 6, 2008; and they’re ALL votes for Franken. I was trying to control the outcome of the election.

I knew it couldn’t stay a secret forever and I have decided to come clean.

I only hope my family and friends can forgive me for this transgression.

All ballots should be serial number (blank ballots, serial numbered) and then those ballots that are “found” can be keyed to specific precincts.

If some “extras” mysteriously route to another polling center, the conspiracy can be uncovered.

Al Franken would not survive a runoff election and he knows it. He needed competition to split the vote.
