Pajamas Media ^ | November 24 | Annie Jacobsen

Rashid Rauf, the suspected ringleader for the 2006 plot to blow up transatlantic airliners, has been killed by a U.S. drone in Waziristan, Pakistan.

The news comes as a surprise. What is not surprising is that the 27-year-old British terrorist of Pakistani descent was hiding in the tribal areas of northwestern Pakistan. Or that he was killed by a Predator drone carrying hellfire missiles launched from a U.S. base in Afghanistan and guided by technicians in Nevada.

What’s surprising is that it was the Americans who got him...

Great news. Our methods must remain secrets, but the results are impressive and should give concern to those Islamofascist terrorists.

From the story...

Although Rauf is a British citizen, it appears England was not included, or even aware, of the American operation to kill him.

How does that phrase go? It's better to apologize than to ask permission.

“In the tangled web of terrorist alliances and allegiances, one thing becomes clear: for the United States, certain terrorists are wanted dead — not alive.”

That missle was the last thing in his head....

I think that if you're so big a terrorist that you don't appear on the FBI's "Most Wanted" list, update your will, because they have no intention of taking you alive.

I would presume the SAS and/or MI6 gave its discrete consent

His death raises questions about information sharing and military alliances in the war on terror. Although Rauf is a British citizen, it appears England was not included, or even aware, of the American operation to kill him.

He's an international terrorist operating in a largely lawless land, with the stated intention of killing civilized western innocents.

His British citizenship is an interesting footnote, but irrelevant to the mission of blowing his scummy ass off the face of this earth.

For all the screaming headlines over the money spent on the weapons that DON’T behave, it is both good and bad that the Preditor gets so little press.

Exactly.

For instance, let’s say an American citizen, we’ll call him Bill A. for purposes of this example, committed a bombing or bombings in London many years ago.

I’d have no problem with the Brits tracking and killing him without asking our permission.

Maybe the Brits were left in the dark because we were afraid that there was a mole that would tip him off.

BTW, you gotta love those Predators and their Hellfire missiles!
