Osama Bin Laden's driver Salim Hamdan leaving Guantanamo Bay - report

OSAMA bin Laden's former driver Salim Hamdan will be transferred out of Guantanamo Bay to Yemen, CNN has reported citing unnamed US sources.

A jury of six US military officers at a Guantanamo terrorism trial in August sentenced Hamdan to five years and six months in prison for supporting terrorism - which taking into account time served, amounted to only an additional five months.

The Pentagon refused to confirm the report.

"In general we don't talk about transfers until they are completed," Pentagon spokesman Mark Ballesteros said.

Hamdan, a native of Yemen and about 40 years old, was picked up by US forces in Afghanistan in late 2001, and arrived at the Guantanamo prison in 2002.

According to CNN, Hamdan will serve out the remainder of his term in Yemen.

Around 100 of the roughly 250 "war on terror" suspects being held in Guantanamo are from Yemen.

Washington has not reached and agreement with Sanaa that would allow US officials to send home more Yemeni prisoners.

Salim Hamdan is not going to Yemen. He will be Michael Jackson's new driver in Riyadh, where Michael is moving after converting to Islam.

Michael is having a camel transplant so he can get his mojo working for men like Hamdan.( sarc. off)

Allah is indeed Percival.

I have a feeling that after he has spent some time in a Yemeni prison he will long for Guantanamo.

The Yemeni cells for Al-Qaeda prisoners tend to have brittle walls and unlocked doors.

Osama will be happy now. He has pretty much been walking for the past 6 years.
