OBL is either alive or dead.
The rest talk big, and kill folks.
But then it does get them the headlines.
Why? If it could lead to his death? As plenty of other HVTs that have talked have met this fate.
Furthermore, why do you assume to know of all transmissions and or messages by UBL? If such a message doesn't make it to the MSM (or to its intended destination) doesn't mean that such a transmission / messages never existed? It always could have been diverted into unintended hands and thus those unintended hands now have proof up until a given date of HVTs existence.
There is enough OSINT out there without having to leak Classified info for people to see that those in positions to know, firmly believe the man to be alive. They do so for a reason.
Why do you assume UBL to be of such character, so brave? It became clear once UBL knew we had boots on the ground in Stan, Oct 01, his sole concern became staying alive. Not propaganda, nothing other than staying alive.
Question. Why would you assume UBL would want to give us information freely that otherwise he knows is costing us tremendously in life and treasure? If he can make us wonder if we are chasing a ghost all the better for him.
Knowing someone remains alive and knowing someones given location are two separate realities, both completely conceivably true. There are numerous ways to conclude (even verify to a set date) that someone is/was alive, without being able to pinpoint their location in any actionable sense.

I’ve thought gor a long time thathe was killed early on. The “messages” from him are extremely rare, open to manipulation, and NO outsider has seen him since 9-11. The voices could be those of a relative. The few pix could be doubles....easily.
And it’s so unlike him to be so very silent. Which is explained by all the work Zawahiri has to go through to fabricate another phony tape.
