Media Only Just Notices Obama Has Thin Resume?
Publius' Forum ^ | 11/20/07 | Warner Todd Huston

Interestingly, Dan Morain of the L.A. Times had discovered back in April that Barack Obama has a pretty thin resume prior to being elevated to the presidency. Between 1993 and '96, Obama, the much-ballyhooed "Constitutional scholar," had only an unusually low 3,723 billable hours of legal work accrued over a four-year stint with his law firm employer Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Gallard. Further, he seems to have worked on but few cases and made little impact commensurate with his reputation. Yet, just this month the Orlando Sentinel decides to re-print the Morain piece. The question I have, of course, is why is the Orlando Sentinel only NOW interested that Obama was "involved in relatively few cases before entering politics"? Where was this investigating before the election?

The Morain piece begins by recounting how Obama has so often made a big deal out of his days as a "civil-rights attorney" claiming it a key ingredient of his early, formative community development years. Yet, Morain finds that there isn't much record proving that Obama did a whole heck-of-a-lot back in those days. (bold mine)

Senior attorneys at the small firm where he worked say he was a strong writer and researcher, but was involved in relatively few cases before entering politics.

So, Obama, for all his claims of being involved in the lives of "churches and community groups" as a lawyer with the firm is... what? Blowing smoke? If the paper trail reveals he didn't work on many cases or have very many billable hours, how is it that he found this experience to be a monumental involvement in the community that shaped his career...

Maybe some of the media are getting concerned that they touted a fraud since they knew so little about him or if they did, they didn’t print the story.

Hope it is hitting home to the media that they have 401K’s like the rest that could be in danger for their retirment with this bunch of incompetents running the show.

“NOW they notice down in Florida??”

Oh, this one is easy. First, they had to get their man elected. The media wanted Obama because he was a well spoken black man. That’s it, that’s all they wanted to know. So, all the stories were tailored to get Obama in the White House. Mission Accomplished.

Now the media will revert to their normal self. They can attack Obama because it’s safe. Obama’s been elected, negative stories will do one thing, attract an audience. The media loves to attack the powerful, and they need to make money. The love fest can only go on so long before people quit paying attention.

They’d be happy if that was the extent of their worries. With the market crashing, public companies lose their market capitalization. Other companies lose capital because they invest. That spells massive lay offs.

Obama’s legal career frankly astonishes me. He had no published articles in the Harvard Law Review. He published nothing when he was a law professor.

And he billed less than 1,000 hours a year? Most firms require 2,000+ a year.

I’d love to see some investigating about how he managed all of that.

Yes, I like to see some "affirmative action" in that regard...;^)

After deducting weekends, 3 weeks of vacation, holidays and sick days, Figure 225 work days per year. Hussein was able to bill about half his time during those 4 years.

Now when they are challenged over the next several years on their obvious bias in the 2008 election they can defend themselves by saying “Look, nobody was tougher on Obama than us! We published pieces that took a hard, critical look at his experience and laid it out there for our readers back in 2008”. Never will they add “after the election was over” and how many will remember that detail?

That’s a fact, and they called US the racists!!

Sadly, we will all pay the price for this stupidity.

900 billable hours per year as an junior associate in a law firm? That kind of time would get your ass shown the door in a hurry. I'm not a lawyer, but I've known a few, and to a person they've stated that regardless of the size of the firm, a fresh out of law school just passed the bar would be doing 2000 hours BILLABLE as a MINIMUM, and most were doing 2600-3000 a year. And considering that billable is only about 60-70 percent of total hours worked, that's a busy person.

So even if Obama was doing 900 hours a year billable at 60 percent of total time billable, that's still only 1500 hours TOTAL per year. 30 hours a week. Barely more than part-time. Yeah, that's what we need...the part-time president.

We are SO screwed.

You are so right! They are also responsible for the loss of confidence in the media because of their spin and outright lies about Obama. The media covered up for Obama and dissed their ethics along with credibility for what? A man that won’t talk to any news organization if they ask the wrong question.

As I have mentioned here:

OBAMAO ... is America ready for a Marxist president? [ 1, 2, 3, 4 ]

Nope, but we are about to get one, good & hard...

...so chroniclers like Yours Truly will be documenting every move he makes, every breath he takes... unless, or until, we are silenced by all that "tolerance & inclusiveness" he & his followers are already practicing....

America Held Hostage- the Obama Files...
Click the picture:

I'll keep doing it as long as there's something to say- or until we are silenced.

As far as I am able, I will mirror this on our Canadian sister site, which has been moved to Panama due to censorship issues:

...and no, I'm not kidding about that tagline- I wish I were...

Let’s face it...Obama is not a smart person. He is incapable of speaking two complete sentences without stammering. He won’t release his transcripts from his colleges. How many former professors and fellow students stepped forward on his behalf during the campaign? His grade school was a mandrassa in Indonesia, and he was stoned during much of his high school years. During his campaign, he mostly spoke in platitudes, because whenever he tried to use facts, he botched it terribly (”57 states”).

Investigating this fraud could take years — most secretive person ever to run for office IMHO and the media/voters bought into what he had to say with nothing to back him up.

The Bill of Rights has freedom of the press but with that comes an obligation to print truth and not make themselves part of their story with their fawning all of Obama as the first 6.25% black President.

If only... Doubt it, though. They may be ignorant in many ways, but I’ll bet they’re very informed re the thuggery of Chicago politicians. They know there might be dirt naps in their futures.

Attack Obama? Fat chance. There won’t be a day that they’ll attack him or his empty suit . . . Obama will walk on water and any and ALL problems he’ll have will be blamed on Bush. This will be a four-year love affair. They’ll never admit they made a huge mistake.
