Video: Bailout money doesn’t belong to us

Rep. Joe Knollenberg is a Republican — from Michigan, naturally enough for the auto bailout — who believes that tax money doesn’t come from taxpayers. “It’s not your money,” he tells Neil Cavuto. It belongs to Congress, and they’ll do whatever they want with it. And what they want to do is take it from taxpayers to “prop up” failing businesses instead of forcing them to become competitive.

This is nothing more or less than Republican redistributionism. We criticized Barack Obama for this during the campaign, but we see here the GOP version of the same kind of flabby, European-style Social Democrat policies of government intervention in markets. The only difference is the beneficiaries. Obama wants to take money from those who succeed and give it to those who don’t on a class basis, while Knollenberg and his ilk want to take money from everyone and subsidize corporate failure.

Small wonder that voters chose Obama’s version of redistributionism over Knollenberg’s in the last election.

Idiocy like that coming from Knollenberg is the reason we are now a minority party.

” Bailout money doesn’t belong to us “

It doesn’t — it belongs to the Chinese, and will have to be paid back by our grandchildren....

If one is ever tempted to declare that tax monies do not belong to the American people,

Think about what this moron just said. Think real hard about it.

This Congress'person', and I use the term person very, very loosely, has just told you that you're a slave. He can take money which you have earned from you at the point of a Government gun and use it for any purpose he sees fit.

He can take as much of it as he wants and then has the temerity to tell us that is was NEVER our money. It's ALWAYS belonged to Government.

That's as close to an outright declaration of War on the American people as one can come.

And this guy claims to be a Republican? UnFreepinbelievable...

Yeah, and that $100k + that they helped themselves to from my portfolio wasn't mine either. I was just “holding” it for them.

My disgust and despair for our country grows daily.

“Rep. Joe Knollenberg is a Republican”

Either we figure a way to drum thus S.O.B. out of the party, with fanfare and publicity, or we *DESERVE* to have our asses kicked by the marxists.

With folks like this having an (R) after their name, what DOES the GOP stand for?

I was disgusted yesterday by the gun grabbing 5 RINOs, but this is beyond the pale.

The difference between Knollenberg and some thug who points a gun at my and tells me to hand over "his" money is that the thug at least runs off afterwards rather than showing up on TV telling me to shut up and lie back and take it. Every penny the government spends whether it is for a new aircraft carrier or the post-it notes at some Department of Education branch office is my money.

Statements like that make me want to vote for a Democrat so I can get my despotism pure and without the base alloy of hypocrisy.

I can’t believe it, but I feel for this idiot. Michigan is HIS state, these are HIS voters, they are HIS people his words are meant to help. That is why they elected him.
That being said, sir, do NOT fight your fight in a way that insults our brains. Your words are the very reason to NOT help out your people. The question arises, “who the hell do you think you are?”
You have had your say, now shut up and go away..far away.

I’ve been saying for a long LONG time that both parties had betrayed the American people, and the Constitution but noooooooooooo, no one wanted to hear that the GOP could be anything less than God like.

Reality smacks hard.

Or, maybe he’s just kidding ;)

Yet of course this clown will attend all of the republican parties, sit on or chair a committee and vote with the rest of the left. When conservatives have the guts and the power to throw this a**hat out of the party, I’ll send my next donation.

At least you have one willing to admit what they all think, You, the individual, are the property of the united states government. You are their slave, bend down to your master!

We keep a list of those in Washington who come out in favor of this. I can’t remember who used similar words recently, but... “We will know their names. We will make them famous”. hehe
