The forces pushing Barack Obama to close Guantanamo Bay holding facility for captured terrorists, will settle for nothing less. Obama will have to shut it down. They don’t care that doing this puts America in grave danger they want what they want.
To insure “fairness” these vicious terrorists will be brought to American soil for federal trails as if they were bank robbers.
For PR purposes some will be tried in New York’s Eastern and Southern District Federal courtrooms where some will gain acquittal. They will be represented by Public Defenders paid for with our money. One of these lawyers will be Rachel Meeropol the granddaughter of the Rosenbergs.
Each trial will be a circus. The Southern District is in Brooklyn a few blocks for the main Middle Eastern enclave on our east coast: the Atlantic Ave section, looks across the East River into the hole that was once the World Trade Center.
The courtrooms will be full of terrorists watching, threatening and intimidating the jurors. Every acquittal will mean a new terrorist living on Atlantic Avenue and plotting against us. Because they come from “war torn countries destroyed by American aggression” we will be forced to grant sanctuary to these “innocent” men.
When Obama closes Gitmo he will pull a Jimmy Carter and hand it back to the “people of Cuba as a goodwill gesture to make up for the misuse of their territory.”
Castro will be very happy to then sell the base to the Russians who will have a nuclear missile launching pad 110 miles from Miami.
The media wants another Camelot and this will give it to them, but Obama is no John Kennedy and Putin is no Khrushchev. Obama is spineless and will lose this new “Cuban Missile Crisis” putting us all in grave danger.

Uh, closing the use of Guantanamo as a terrorist storage facility in no way implies that the US is giving up the base itself.
He has steal in his spine.
Cuba is the favorite hiding place for ex patriot members of the Weather Underground. Castro is one of their heroes. Closing Guantanomo would be high on William Ayres’ list of favors.
The only danger is if we bring them here and put into our country and court system. I would say send them to egypt and let the billions in foreign aid we pay — pay for them to stay there.
I think he will close the prison but I would hope he would close the base itself. It’s a very strategic outpost for the U.S.
I am confused as to whether he is shutting down the prison holding terrorists or the whole shebang. I expect this article to be correct, he will dump the whole thing in Russia’s lap.

This is dopey. We’re not giving up the military base, only bringing the prisoners here to the states where they can more effectively blow up Americans.
You are assuming Obama realizes that there is a military base there and not just a prisoner of war camp.
He doesn't need steel in his spine if this is what he wants to do and will strengthen his ideological soul mates.

Naval Base. Marines are part of the Navy, so, also a Marine Base to keep back the hoard of Commies on the other side of the fence.
I don’t think the author of this piece cites any source for closing the entire naval base down.
We don't own it, what if Cuba decides to push the issue and Russia decides to come to their aid?
A load of speculation here but we can rest assured that the price of “normalized” relations between USA and Cuba would be the “return” of Guantanamo to Cuba.
