OK, Max. How are gonna get the crack and meth addicts to pony up? What about the homeless, and the newly unemployed, and the poor, and the minimum wage earner and... and...and...There ain’t enough rich people to pay for this!

****If consumers are happy with their existing coverage, they can keep it, Baucus said, but he added: “The system can work better and cost less for everyone, if leaders are willing to work together for sound policy solutions.” ****

Translation: Members of Congress get FREE health care for themselves and families for life. So what do they care if the rest of us wait months for an emergency operation? As it is right now, this country has the BEST health care in the world. If anyone doesn’t have insurance, all they have to do is walk into an emergency room and get taken care of, thanks to the taxpayers.

“Our health-care system is broken” he said. “46 million are uninsured and 25 million are underinsured.” In addition, insurance premiums are "out of control.”

IMHO, the high cost of health care is due to lawyers (think Breck boy) and more layers "administration" between the provider and user. Now the demonrats want to add another layer or six.

(S) They need to do something. I'm tired of stepping over all those dead bodies on the way Walmart.(/s)

it would require everyone to eventually buy insurance coverage.

So now the Brownshirts will be goose-stepping to a home near you, forcing everyone to have Health Care.

Lovely, just freakin' lovely.

Baucus is asking Americans to “suspend their judgment”

What a stupid thing to say.

What it means is that government will take more out of your paycheck to pay for another socialist program that panders to the poor and strips hard wroking americans of any assets.

Mandatory health insurance, huh? Hmm.

And if I'm perfectly healthy but my aging parents are going to bed hungry? Is it okay with you, Your Honors, if I spend my earnings the way I think best?!

Geez...you know-it-all do-gooders - always saving me from making stoopid decisions, aren't ya? You've barely got enough brains to be public school teachers, yet you want to run my life? Get off my back and get a real job - and a life!

I like this. Mandatory universal health insurance. Manditory universal volunteerism. There have been quite a few other mandatory programs floated from Obamaland, government services that are so good for us that we have to be forced to participate for our own benefit. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Obama is good.

I will not buy compulsory insurance. I will go to prison first.

“We’ve fixed Wall Street, we’ve fixed the housing market, fixed taxes — everything else but health care — and if we don’t fix that, we will have more economic troubles,” Baucus said.”

WTF?

Those 46 million people without health insurance are ripping off those of us who do have insurance. That needs fixing.
