Barack Obama's designated chief of staff -- responding to Republicans' concerns that his tough, partisan approach might run at odds with Barack Obama's administration -- said it's up to the new president to set a bipartisan "tone." Illinois Rep. Rahm Emanuel, appearing Sunday on ABC News' This Week, dismissed such charges by saying Obama will maintain his pledge to govern in a bipartisan manner. Last week, the Republican National Committee put out a press release calling Obama's choice of Emanuel, "Obama's Broken Promise" because the Illinois politician has a reputation for being "hyper-partisan."

He’s the CoS, he’s supposed to be hyper partisan. Karl Rove was the darling of the Dums for his bi partisan manner?
Obama is going to govern as a Liberal Democrat. How liberal is a guess right now but to be honest he could have gone lot farther left than Emmanuel

What are we to think of somebody like Emmanuel, who has such a bad temper and holds grudges, that he stabbed a table with a steak knife repeatedly, pretending to stab evil Republicans, and who childishly sent a dead fish to a lobbyist he was pissed off at???????
He’s almost 50 years old but he’s an adolescent. Why do we have to have children running the White House?????
To: Nachum
Of course Emanuel is hyper-partisan, just as Obama is. In the liberal "mind", bipartisan is Republicans voting with Democrats on Democrat initiatives. Partisan is when Republicans have the unmitigated audacity to oppose, and vote against Democrat initiatives.
To: Dilbert San Diego
Because we have children voting them into the White House?
