“I supported Duncan Hunter, who I feel was an excellent conservative and the right man for the job. We all know where that went.”
Duncan L Hunter 2012
I am a 'leave me alone' government type, there's something wrong. If you are a 'leave me alone' person, shouldn't that goes toward people who are gay?
Charlie Crist - RINO gov. in FL
——> “Crist initially drew the ire of pro-life advocates when he voted against a 24 hour waiting period for abortions when he was a stat Senator. That action and his reluctance to take a clear pro-life stance in the gubernatorial election, prompted Florida Right to Life to endorse Gallagher in the September primary.”

——> Crist is a tree-hugger:
“Offshore drilling separates hopefuls
Gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist opposes rigs within 125 miles of Florida’s coast, while Tom Gallagher supports the idea.”

MEANWHILE, Red China is all set to drill offshore of Florida, and has a 100-year lease there.
——> Crist supported “Earned legalization” which is AMNESTY
“only RINOs can win in Blue states”
With that attitude, we’ll have RINOism FOREVER.
Ronald Reagan became governor in a blue state.
I choose option 3), Replace them in the primary with actual Republicans
You make a good point. Alot of freepres have distorted the word RINO to define any Republican who voted against them on their pet issues, so they scream that so-and-so who carried the water for the conservative movenment for 30 years and votes the right way 90% of the time is a "RINO" because that politician didn't agree with them on some piece of legislation two years ago.
RINO is an antagram that literally stands for Republican In Name Only, so I define RINO as someone who claims to be Republican but works regularly to undermine the Republican and instead does the bidding of the Democrats the majority of the time.
At first I thought Chuck Hagel was still pretty good on the rest of the issues even though he had become an incessant pain in the butt of the Iraq issue, but since then he's veered far left and done everything he can to undermine Bush and the GOP. Ditto with Bob Barr. At first I thought his joining the ACLU was an isolated quirk, but since then he's embraced all kinds of goofy liberal positions to get attention and was clearly hoping to destroy Sarah Palin and throw this election to Obama.
For the names of RINOs, check HERE.
Any Republican with a lifetime or yearly score under 80 is a RINO. (Other people may have a different cutting score. Personally, I am disappointed with Republicans who are scored below 90, but that doesn't make them "RINOs".)
It would be a much shorter list to establish who are the conservative stalwarts in the GOP.
Well "red state" McCain has an lifetime ACU rating of 82%, whereas "blue state" Snowe has an lifetime ACU rating of something like 51%, so you're really comparing apples to oranges here. McCain is in a much more conservative state than Snowe, and accordingly, he votes much more conservative. For a more accurate comparison you'd need someone who represents a conservative region but has a voting record just like Snowe's. There is indeed no execuse for that. >>
>>> While I wholeheartedly, without question, believe in getting the true conservative elected in red states/districts and even Purplish states/districts, only RINOs can win in Blue states. Thats a fact. <<
Really? You might want to explain this "fact" to Governor of Don Calceri, the sitting Governor of ultra Democrat Rhode Island, who is now on his second term. He is reliably pro-life, pro-gun, pro-family, pro-drilling, pro-tax cuts, pro-cutting spending, anti-illegal immigration, and anti-government waste.
>> I mean, I think folks like Snowe and Collins realize they are not spokespeople for the conservative agenda. They are a bonus IMO. <<
Folks like Snowe and Collins are a royal pain in the ass, IMO. The Republican leaders who support them say "you may not like their stance on so and so issue, but they're with us when it counnts", but then they turn around and vote with the enemy when it counts. I can stomach a "moderate" Republican. I cannot stomach a liberal, IMO. I would vote vote for either of two if I lived in Maine.
>> Thats how the liberals have won the past two cycles. Running conservative Dems in conservative districts, but in the end muzzling them when they got to Congress, ceding more power to Pelosi/Reid. <<
Sort of. The Dems have run several stealth liberals under the radar who campaign as center-right in Republican states to get elected, then quickly morph into liberal scum once they take office. Campaign as conservatives, vote as liberals. One such example is John Edwards in North Carolina.
>> Even kooks like KOS & Co understannd this theory. Theyre not gonna get a bleeding-heart socialist elected in places like South Dakota, Montana, Arkansas, Loiusiana, and Nebraska - all conservative states with Dem U.S. Senators. <<
I disagree. South Dakota, Montana, Louisiana, etc. have all elected bleeding heart socialists with ACU ratings under 20%. They've also elected a couple "middle of the road" centrist Dems like John Breaux and Heath Schuler, but the Dems have proved far more successful than the GOP at getting people with their idealogy elected in states that are normally hostile that that type of candidate. Look at Kansas -- solid conservative state, and they have a hardcore socialist Governor (Kathleen Selibus). Of course, there are a handful of times we've done likewise -- the aforementioned Don Calceri of RI, and as recently as 2004 we had Peter Fizgerald as Senator from Illinois. Too bad the RINOs hounded him out of office because he won have won re-election.
OK, good.
News flash: Winning elections requires a MAJORITY OF THE VOTERS.
In states represented by RINOs in the Senate, "real Republicans" are a MINORITY OF THE VOTERS.
In some RINO-electing states like Maine, they are a TINY MINORITY.
The alternatives to RINOs like Specter, Collins, DeWine and Snowe are communists. That's a fact.
Charlie Crist killed Terri Schiavo too. As chief civil rights counsel for the state, he pretended he had no authority to protect Terri’s civil rights. Had she not been caucasian, he may have helped Terri. He spends most of his time pandering to the greenies or to the black community. Conservatives? LOL
Condeleeza Rice
If Charlie Crist did his job, Terri would probably be alive. Charlie is another antilife RINO, from abortion to forced euthanasia, while PRETENDING to be pro-life.
