Florida Amendment Results ( gay marriage ban controversial )
CBS 12 ^ | November 5th

Posted on 11/06/2008 2:18:10 AM PST by Halfmanhalfamazing

Amendment 2 - Passed. The most controversial-- the Florida marriage protection amendment. Voters in Florida decided to identify marriage as the union between a man and a woman, nothing else-- banning gay marriage and extra benefits for domestic partnerships. Florida will now be one of approximately 30 states with a definition of marriage in its constitution.

Of course they had to throw that in there.

"the most controversial"

Liberalism is never controversial to media liberals.

It passed and the media reported it. these days, that’s only slightly short of being a miracle.

With all the liberal north easterners who have moved here I’m surprised the marriage amendment passed.

IF it was controversial, it would have been mentioned by CNN, MSNBC, or even FNC.

For thousands of years, the de facto ban on gay marriage wasn’t controversial.

Now, after two decades of propagands, it’s suddenly “controversial”?

There is a civil war in this country - because the Left does not respect our values and and are not gracious when they lose. And they should not be surprised when we will do everything to block their agenda - fair and foul. What goes around, comes around!

ALPAPilot,
not meaning any disrespect, just what is an ALPA pilot?

And I would think you are tired of all the New Yorkers moving to your state too.

I'm an airline pilot and therefore am required to belong to the Air Line Pilots Association. A union that is part of the AFl-CIO. Needless to say I don't see eye to eye with the union leadership on politics; not much else either. I'm rather off the reservation.

It's mostly the MASSholes that have invaded NH with there blue paint. They'll screw it up here than move somewhere else no doubt.

Scary isn’t it?

Isn’t Rahm a jew? I wonder how that will play out.

Well, yes, they reported on it’s passing.

It’s that snarky line of “and it’s controversial” that gets me.

Media liberals don’t find judicial activism controversial, it’s when americans fight back.

THAT! is what the media finds controversial.

Agreed whole heartedly!

That’s why the media and the left - and I include McCain as well as his campaign in this:

That’s why the left are out there smearing Sarah now. They are deathly affraid of her. They are deathly afraid of any true conservative.

I wonder how McCain will oppose Jindal if/when he becomes more nationally prominent.

It’s controversial because there are TWO vocally vociferous sides to the issue.

I’m not defending the media. I’d like to burn them to the ground, but I wouldn’t draw a line in the sand over your point - an accurate point but a petty one by comparison to the media’s daily slate of much larger sins.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^It’s controversial because there are TWO vocally vociferous sides to the issue.^^^^^^^^^^

There’s two vociferous sides to nearly every issue.

I can’t think of anything where more americans agreed than on the amnesty bill. What was it, around 80% of americans were opposed to that?

Media liberals never cast amnesty as controversial. In fact, it was just the opposite. It’s border security..... it’s a fence...... it’s a wall........ That’s what’s controversial. It’s all of you xenophobes and racists who are making this such a big deal.

^^^^^^^^^^^^by comparison to the media’s daily slate of much larger sins.^^^^^^^^^^^^

You’re not looking at this in context of what’s preceded.

If this stood all by itself, I’d agree. But this is more of the same.
