It’s been a long, long time since my 8th grade Arizona government class. If Napolitano would leave office, who is next in line for the governorship?
Having said that, I doubt very seriously the Dems would take Janet out of Arizona. She’s much too valuable for them here, for the remainder of her term, and, as you say, a Republican would take her place. She’s done a good job for them in turning a solid red state kind of purplish.
Good riddance!!! Napolitano has us now over $1 BILLION in debt and pushing to $2 BILLION and then still wanted to hand out MORE money such as for free college. Nice thought. BAD time. And generating revenue means putting out 300 mobile photo cops across the state. Pathetic. Obama can have her.
BTW... Sheriff Joe won big last night! He totally rocks.

Next in line is Secretary of State, Jan Brewer. AZ does not have a lieutenant governor.
Napolitano is not a dictator and Arizona is still a majority Republican state. The Republicans have controlled both houses of state legislature during her six years as governor. Plenty of blame to go around to ALL sides if any financial mess arises because of this downturn.
Everyone is currently aware that she’s running the debt into the ground. She was in the black, then went onto her pet projects like All-Day kindergarten.
It appears Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano believes Janet has more "Parental Authority" than "Parents".
