The Morning After Debacle

The PUMA Factor just was not big enough to overcome all the other things going on. Believe me when I say that I wish things had turned out differently. I can live with not only being wrong, but being way off the mark. In the end, the polling companies repaired their weighting algorithms sufficiently to allow for the PUMA Factor and accurately project the winner. I wish it was just a matter of me being wrong, but I do not think it is.

This country is about to take an abrupt lurch to the left at exactly the wrong moment. Obama's professed economic policies will repeat the mistakes of Herbert Hoover and make the current recession a great deal worse. The usual tax the rich nonsense will stifle initiative and investment and job creation will virtually cease. All right, we have lived through tough economic times before and we will again.

On the military front, a 25% cut in that budget as Barney Frank has suggested is just for openers. Obviously the left will demand we pack up and leave Iraq post haste and leave it easy pickings for Syria and Iran. Now that all the jihadists no longer will be flooding into Iraq to kill American soldiers, they will have to find somewhere else to kill Americans. I think they know where there are millions available for that purpose.

We might still survive all this at least until Iran is allowed to build a nuke anyway. But I suspect we will already be easy pickings by then. I hope I am wrong about President Obama for all our sakes. The only thing he is lacking is a military cadre and he knows the soldiers in our armed forces will draw the line at suppressing opposition to Obama at home. It appears he has plans to build his own "civilian" military cadre. All that will be lacking is the brown shirts. Like I say, I truly hope I am as wrong about all of this as I was about this election.

At this point all we have is the faint hope that someone will be able to prove that Obama is not a native born citizen of the United States. I will not hold my breath on that ever happening. Besides, it would just make Biden President. While he is an embarrassment, at least he is not as dangerous, as I suspect our new President is. I am an old man now so it probably will not matter much to me one way or the other. But in all honestly, I have to say that I never thought I would live to see this day. My faith in the good sense of the American people has been totally shattered by this election and I am sure it will never recover from this experience.

For all of you who written to me and offered hope and faith, I am deeply grateful. For those of you who have written and blogged about what a total idiot I am for having believed that the "Chosen One" would not be annointed, you have my sympathy. If saying cutting things about anyone who does not agree with you is the way you wish to live your life, no doubt President Obama will be quite willing to enlist you in his new cadre so you can make a living do that. Even those of you have written me in anger feeling that I have led you down the primrose path originally gave me support. If it makes you feel any better, I feel that all Americans have been led down the primrose path and most of us will all live to regret it deeply.

I know he has thugs. But you and I will never go quietly into that good night. People who share our beliefs may not be related by blood. But we're still each other's source of comfort, consolation and strength at such a trying time. We're a family and despite all of our differences, conservatives are united because we know what is true in our own lives is also true for America. Keep the faith!

PUMAs will flock to the next Hillary like Liberal that comes around. This is a false friend. This guy was a pissed off Hillary supporter who Obozo didn’t kiss butt too. If anything I have to sort of laugh at how absolutely wrong he was. It’s one thing for us to be wrong on the right, but this guy was so off and he has to eat, sleep and drink with the Dems.

Relying on PUMAs, Birth Certificates, Whitey Tapes and associations with terroristas and racists to win is not a good political strategy..........

The soldiers will also draw the line at him from building his own Waffen SS. If Barry heads down that road he opens himself up a Constitutional Crisis.

The PUMA's never existed.

Months from now, we'll discover that the whole PUMA phenomenon, including those Hillary websites, were the work of Republican Party workers as part of a long tradition of "rat f*cking" in American politics.

In the end it had no effect.

Well said Retired Greyhound. With the country going the way it is I look forward to eternal rest. Sorry to be dramatic but it’s just so sad what has happened to America. The youth of America are the laziest, greediest, most entitled, arrogant little b*****rds that have EVER walked the earth. They too are in for a rude awakening. I think we all correctly sense a major disaster in the making here.

That was always the question, wasn’t it?

Well, as it turns out, just as in 2006, the pollsters were right. The RCP average nailed O’s number and was just 1.5 below Mc’s number. Basically, they got it right. And everyone here and elsewhere who said the pollsters were wrong, were in fact mistaken.

Oh, well, I hope we learn from history.

“All right, we have lived through tough economic times before and we will again.”

Wrong!!!

“We” did not live through hard times, am older and much tougher generation did. “We” are dealing with a completely different cast of characters.

Oh, well, I hope we learn from history.

If one good thing comes of this debacle, it will be that FReepers once and for all get off of this "The polls can't be right" garbage they keep parroting every election when the polls show us losing. We did the same thing in '06 and got slaughtered. We got slaughtered again this time. How many times will it take? We have to have the eyes to see and ears to hear what is going on out there.
