To everyone in Indiana, here is the URL that, I hope, will keep us abreast of things in Indiana. I will be refreshing the page often when tallies start to come in. Let's keep in touch tonight.
http://www.in.gov/apps/sos/election/general/general2008?page=office&countyID=-1&officeID=36&districtID=-1&candidate=
WRKO reporting that IN Dems in Gary are preparing to report as many votes as needed to win it for O.
Why is IN a battleground? Bush won it by 21% in 2004.
Thanks - from this Hoosier down in the southern part of the state.
What’s their source?
economy. mccain still wins IN by 10-12
Who knows. We have had an influx of people from other states. And latinos (legal and otherwise).
Hey they sent Sarah here twice. That ought to tell you something. They didn't send McCain. It's nice for a change to get more than a cursory nod while flying over to some other state though.
Many are saying if McCain shows strong in Indiana then it could mean the nation. Indiana polls close at 6pm although they have to wait for everyone in line by 6pm to vote.
The 0 is trying to depress turnout nationwide by closing margin in IN as much as possible, since they close first

It's now 52.6 - 46.1 McCain in the lead nationwide. In Indiana, with 1.4% of the precincts reporting in it's 5-048 Obama, but that won't last long.

So why is Fox and CNN or anyone reporting returns for Indiana? Polls close at 6 EST for much of the state, but the Gary-Hammond part of Indiana and the SW part of the state are in central time. Polls don’t close til 6CST, 7EST. I called CNN to complain earlier.
So far Obama has held a steady lead in Indiana.
6:59pm. McCain first lead in raw total in Indiana.
I saw that too, McCain’s lead is going to keep growing.
Indiana Reporting 4%
McCain 64,418
Obama 63,235
So far in Indiana, according to the state, it’s 6467 - 5741 McCain, with Barr gettiung 144 votes.
Now
Indiana Reporting 4%
McCain 66,000 (rounding for speed)
Obama 64,000
Where did you get those figures from?
MSNBC has live returns and a pretty map
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25362046
Indiana Reporting 7% McCain 106,000 (rounding for speed) Obama 102,000
The SOS has is 12761 - 11398 McCain leading.
nice map bttt
Where are you getting your numbers from?
Wow, thanks, that it sweet, you can see how each county comes in, wait until Hamilton County comes in, a freakin’ ton of votes for McCain ...
At 7:15pm EST, FoxNews has Obama up by 2,000 votes in Indiana.
Yeah but now they have Obama leading 106082 to 102648. What’s up with that?
No, McCain is up, Obama has not been back on top since McCain took the lead ...
I’m seeing lots of blue on the MSNBC map as well, more than I’d like to. Now it has McCain up 118105 to 117608, 50-49%. This is still too close for me not to worry.
* somehow get their results before the Secretary of State’s office does. Interesting.... *
Yeah, I thought that was interesting too...!
Vigo County is the bellwether. 90% in, Obama a clear winner.
Vigo has gone to the winner in every election except 2 since 1892.
Got it! Thanks man. So far on the MSNBC map, it shows McCain up in Virginia and Florida. Virginia has only two counties reporting while Florida has 3, all going in favor of McCain. Both are, so far, about 55-44 McCain. Let’s hope it continues.
So far it shows McCain up 24821 to 17316. Let’s pray it keeps up.
According to MSNBC, 173,673 to 162963, McCain in the lead, with 12% reporting in.
There’s only a 5,000 vote difference in Vigo county, so if there are precincts out there McCain still has a chance.
Thanks for the thread pctech. I’m in Portage.
Almost 50% of the precincts have reported in and no one has called Indiana for McCain, yet, 0% of the precincts in PA have reported in and they already call it for Obama. What gives?!?!?!?!?!?
