Are Riots Being Planned for November 5?
The New American ^ | November 3, 2008 | William F. Jasper

Posted on 11/04/2008 1:50:09 PM PST by djsherin

"Police departments in cities across the country are beefing up their ranks for Election Day, preparing for possible civil unrest and riots after the historic presidential contest," reported The Hill, a Washington, D.C.-based newspaper and Internet site, on October 21.

The article continued:

Public safety officials said in interviews with The Hill that the election, which will end with either the nation's first black president or its first female vice president, demanded a stronger police presence.

Some worry that if Barack Obama loses and there is suspicion of foul play in the election, violence could ensue in cities with large black populations. Others based the need for enhanced patrols on past riots in urban areas (following professional sports events) and also on Internet rumors.

Similar articles have broached the issue and the Internet is rife with speculation about possible post-election violence.

One of the hints frequently pointed to is a statement by Democratic Party campaign strategist James Carville on CNN:

But you stop and contemplate this country if Obama goes in and he has a consistent five point lead and loses the election, it would be very, very, very dramatic out there.

Just wondering why the Russians aren’t demanding the chance to monitor these elections. If some of the antics we are hearing about across the USA were taking place in an election in Russia our State Department would be accusing the Russians of not being fully democratic.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say riots are planned, though I wouldn’t be surprised at someone egging them on. I do think riots will happen if Obama loses as a matter of logical outcome. As a matter of fact I’d bet your next paycheck on it.

I don’t think so, but many have reported that many polling places had police protection. I would not be surprised if it were to protect Obama voters from those eeeevvvvil Republicans.
On the other hand, if there are riots, I am sure that the police will be there to protect Obama’s constituents from the storeowners whose stores are broken into and burning down.

No matter if he wins or loses, it’s going to be ugly. If he does win, a riot will be the piece de resistance.

Obama, first black man elected president, being hustled out of his victory party due to violence. It’s not going to be easy for him. A lot of people are going to have their hand out when he moves up.

Too bad we have all the guns.

I wouldn't bet on that. There are an awful lot of handguns floating around the inner cities. I have read that the murder rate in Chicago alone is 4 time that of Baghdad, and I know we have seen our share of handgun murders here in Boston this year. Those drive-by shootings aren't done with spit balls, ya know.

Here in Massachusetts, where the right to carry is pretty much at the discretion of the individual city and town police chiefs, many of whom are absolutely opposed to 2nd amendment rights, it can be awfully difficult for law abiding citizens such as myself to get a legal permit. In addition to having appropriate training and passing a background check, you also have to demonstrate a "legitimate reasong" to get a cc permit. The police chiefs get to decide whether or not they think your stated reason is "legitimate."

Not trying to sound alarmist, but if Barack Obama loses tonight there is going to be civil unrest in cities with large black populations.

And that’s if Barack loses under any circumstances. If it’s close, like Florida in 2000, cities will burn for days.

If Barack Obama wins, which I’m sorry to say is quite likely, then some cities with large black populations will see overly excited jubilance which may result in some not so minor property and personnel damage.

Always keep the 12 guage handy and loaded - just in case, you know.

Yes.

Those preaching anarchy, communism, socialism, environmentalism, animal rights, secular humanism, black liberation theology, open borders, amnesty, socialized medicine, free drugs, nuclear disarmament, world peace, and extreme Islam will riot no matter who wins the election.

This is not unlikely. Pent up black rage will find an outlet on a convenient target. During the Rodney King riots a white Long Beach (CA) resident rode his motorcycle over to his black girlfriend's house to see if she was O.K. He was pulled off his bike by blacks and killed.

From David Horowitz's FrontpageMag.com /DiscoverTheNetworks.org:

"Throughout its history, one of RCP's [Revolutionary Communist Party] principal objectives has been to foment civil unrest in the United States. The most notable example of such efforts occurred on April 29, 1992, when RCP members looted and trashed the downtown and government districts of Los Angeles, triggering the infamous Rodney King riots. During the days immediately preceding the violence, RCP -- which maintained close ties to the L.A. gangs known as the Crips and the Bloods -- had circulated throughout South Central Los Angeles a leaflet featuring a statement by RCP National Spokesman Carl Dix, titled 'It's Right To Rebel' -- a quote popularized by Mao Zedong.

Encouraged by Dix, RCP activists helped lead the riots that would leave 58 people dead, more than 2,300 people injured, some 5,300 buildings burned, and $1 billion in property damaged or destroyed. On the ten-year anniversary of the rioting, RCP member Joseph Veale fondly recalled the violence as 'the most beautiful, the most heroic civil action in the history of the United States.'"

_____________________________________________________________

"The RCP upheld the 1992 sometimes-violent unrest in Los Angeles and nationally as a 'rebellion' in the aftermath of the Rodney King verdicts. Then-LAPD chief Daryl Gates alleged that the RCP was involved in the 'riots'. Los Angeles has long been one of the RCP's larger and more active branches. William 'Mobile' Shaw was a local leader who recently passed and received public commendation from the party."

Maxine Waters on the Los Angeles riots of 1992 (Rodney King riots):

"[Maxine] Waters has been criticized for her comments regarding the Los Angeles riots of 1992. In defense of the people that looted stores and damaged property, Waters said 'If you call it a riot it sounds like it was just a bunch of crazy people who went out and did bad things for no reason. I maintain it was somewhat understandable, if not acceptable. So I call it a rebellion.'[5] She also said it was 'a spontaneous reaction to a lot of injustice' and 'The anger in my district is righteous. I'm just as angry as they are.' She responded to the mass looting of Korean-owned stores by saying: 'There were mothers who took this as an opportunity to take some milk, to take some bread, to take some shoes. They are not crooks. Everybody in the street was not a thug or a hood.'"

This statement by Carville makes me so mad : “But you stop and contemplate this country if Obama goes in and he has a consistent five point lead and loses the election, it would be very, very, very dramatic out there”. Yeah, AND? Whose fault is that? Hasn’t the media consistently puffed Obama up to the point where he literally became the Messiah? And so what if the rest of us don’t agree with that? The left should get over themselves. We ain’t buying any of it.

I am so sorry. I can’t imagine raising children in such an environment. I just got back from being a ‘poll observer’ for my county. Three polling places, everyone happy, friendly. Of course most are voting republican and the others are quiet. But that’s life in ‘knuckledragger’ country......civility, manners, values......something the urbanite lefties just don’t get. Each year I see more of that familiar, sweet culture sliding away, bit by bit into the left’s ideal of ‘civilization’.
