Vanity: Senior Dem at work breaks for McCain
Me | 11/3/08 | Onerom99

Posted on 11/03/2008 2:56:59 AM PST by Onerom99

As most know on here, I live in Central Pennsylvania.

Over the past couple months, an older guy that I work with, late-50s/early 60s has talked about the election. This guy is not engaged and not super sharp on everything going on.

He is actually the father of a man who was once a county commissioner.

During primary season he said he flipped a coin for Hillary/Obama when he got into the booth because he couldn't make up his mind.

It's been pretty clear all along that he intends to vote for Obama..

Until this weekend.. Something got in his craw, I'm not sure what it was. He mentioned the Democrats getting rid of the 401k contribution tax break as really getting under his craw. Friday he said, "Man, I might have to flip a coin this time too."

Yesterday he said, "I'm voting for McCain, I just don't know what this Obama guy is going to do."

Undecideds and Waffling Dems are breaking to McCain people! I can sense it all over the place!

Just thought I would share this positive anecdote to help boost morale out there!

Thanks for sharing Onerom99.

I have a gut feeling there are A LOT of people out there who wonder about B.O., but just aren’t saying anything.

I pray you are right.

I agree.

McCain is going to win.
Pa is going to come through for him.

Obama is going to get “Keystoned”!

Thanks for the good word!

And I concur; a friend of my mom's who is a DIEHARD democrat and has been a delegate to past national conventions crossed over for the first time in her life and voted for McCain. She loves Sarah Palin and thinks she's been treated awful.

My mom's friend is a Hillary supporter who could not vote for Obama, no matter what the Clintons say.

I'm switching the other way. I've thought it over and I've decided I'm tired of long hours, dealine pressure, and the constant stream of drop-everything, emergency projects. So I think I want one of those Barackajobs changing lightbulbs.

I was a little worried that it might not pay, but then I realized the Federal Wage Board will be setting pay scales based on the moral worth of the job. Since I will be saving the plant, I figure it's easily worth $80-120,000 to start, maybe more if I go in for gender reassignment.

As the Obamites get nastier and more Gestapo-like, I wonder how many people are seriously wondering about Obama but are AFRAID to say anything.

My brother-law’s father voted for McCain. He’s 96 and has never voted for a Republican. I believe a lot of this is happening in the voting booth.

I’m hoping for a good steady job at one of the new camps that Chancellor Obama will be creating.

Good news! I love it. And like a few others said, I believe there will be so much of this that the polls mean absolutely nothing. It is all about what people will do when get to the booth and listen to their own heart.

I wa sin a place where I got cable. I watched Fox News and the toe-sucker was saying that “undecided” was going to turn out (mostly) to mean Palin/McCain.

“In the privacy of the voting booth McCain will win”

Maybe.

What is the X factor in voter fraud?
Is it 20%, 45%, etc.?

How many people will not go out and
vote because of apathy, the weather,
or some other reason?

Just a few thoughts...

Since I will be saving the plant

Would that be the Braided Ficus, the Ponytail Palm or the Amaryllis?

I made this prediction last week to a co-worker and I'll reiterate it here...

McCain/Palin will take Pennsylvania by a margin of at least 5 percent.

Ya’ heared it here first folks!

My Mom and Dad, 89 and 87, life long dems, are voting Republican for the first time in their lives. They live in Iowa.

I think the trend that is going on is not the Bradley Effect.

It is the “Person I would marry” effect..

Barack Obama has been the hot, sexy and popular babe/dude that everyone wants to date and have a fling with. But the deadline to settle down and get married is on Tuesday and people are starting to break for the boring old rock that they can trust.

That is the real effect going on right now IMO!
