So does that mean you agree with what happened to Lisa?

Buisness reality. The state where I live is an at will state, which mean if you are male and white you can get let go for any reason. If you are a protected class, well, then sometimes you can sue.

Bottom line, we are a privately held company. In a truely free capitalist system, why would the owner of any company keep someone on who makes decisions that harm the business?

I feel bad for Lisa, but obviously she was working in a place where she didn't fit in. I learned a long time ago, find out what you love to do, then find a place where you can do it.

One of the persons who works under me complained that she felt uncomfortable that many of us carried guns to work. I told that she should then go find another job where she would be more comfortable.

In the long run, Lisa will be much better off.

My advice would be keep your mouth shut until you find another job, then give your 2 weeks notice and enjoy that time to blast every Obama supporter at work and make their lives a living hell.

Sorry you lost your job. Yes, liberal socialist communist types like those who love Obama believe in totalitarian dictatorships, as can be seen by the treatment of “Joe the Plumber”. You were “Joe the Plumberized”.

Welcome to Red America under Obama, but then it is a long time in the making.

When do we get to start shooting people?

This is only the beginning. Thugs get off on power... but as with all totalitarians - eventually the people who back them won't be enthuasitic enough and they'll be hauled off.

Part of keeping a population in line is to make them fear they'll be next. And for that fear to keep working - new groups have to be taken. Feeding the monster is different in a totalitarian state. Your friends at work will be in your spot someday and they'll be equally astonished.

If you want this NOT to happen, get out and vote and ask the nice people you know to vote. This election matters.

Lisa, I quit a job back in July because of all the Obama rhetoric, day in and day out. I was also getting sick going to work. I didn’t go there to discuss politics, I went there to make money, yet they would bait me to discuss Obama. I didn’t go to my boss to complain, he is a huge lib. Instead I went to his competitor, offered my services, was hired on the spot, quit and now make 4 times the money.

Sounds like you were working in a very hostile work invironment...

May be hard being out of a job right now, but in the long run you'll be better off. Life's too short to be miserable all the time, especially when the source of the misery is artificial and unnecessary. Just believe that what comes around goes around, and those that had a hand in your misery will eventually reap some justice for it (actually, being Obamabots, they are probably already miserable failures in life).

I don’t believe what you wrote. Try getting an ambulance chaser to represent a person if they are terminated because of a refusal to “donate” to the United Way. Companies will find some other reason to get rid of a non paying employee. Been there, done that, got the T shirt. ;0)

Lisa, I am so sorry. I know someone who lost his job at 11 am on 9/11 and can tell you I think it was political, too.

But, I want you to remember “We Were Soldiers.”

The guys were accidentally dropped smack dab in the middle of a North Vietnamese Battalion HQ. There were no lines. The Colonel leading them ended up winning by attacking at sunrise, but not before fighting like he knew they could lose it all. At one point, when he realized he had been overrun, he said, “We have no lines” since the gun fire was 360. He called in a “Broken Arrow,” rallied his guys and said, “We’re gonna win this thing.”

There are no lines anymore socially and culturally either. This is our broken arrow politically. We must go all in on this vote.

Remember the boots and vote straight ticket conservative values—the Bible.

Remember the boots that took to tiny ships without really knowing what they’d meet on distant shores.

Remember the boots that ponied up to meet the best army in the world and defeated it.

Remember the boots that marched in the mud only to be covered in the blood of their countrymen...
At Bull Run
At New York
At New Orleans
At Washington D.C.
At Gettysburg
At Chickamauga
At Antietam
At Vickburg
At The Wilderness
At The Ardennes
At Bellau Wood
At Syracuse
At Pearl
At Anzio
At Omaha Beach
At Bataan
At Corregedor
At Midway
At that “Nuts” city
At Chosun
At Seoul
At the beachhead in the Bay of Pigs
At the Mekong Delta
At Saigon
At Mogadishu
At Kuwait City
At Kabul
At Ghost
At Baghdad
At Mosul
At Tikrit
There are so many others.......

Remember the boots who run toward the danger when even their brothers extract the politician.
Remember the boots plated in the sand of some Iranian or Somali desert because a politician gave bad advice.
Remember the 512 boots that fought in Beirut without being avenged.
Remember the boots that run to the fire when people flee the buildings.

The names of these cities, towns and places mean little on their faces, but in light of the significance of our present cold civil war that we are being handed, we must now recognize that every step we make is used against us in this battle. We are in a war to keep alive the soul of America and to remember the reasons for her existence. We now fight this battle in the workplace, on the streets, in the stores, in our schools, in our financial accounts.

There are no lines. There are only soldiers, even if they go by many names.

And men, women, we’re gonna win this thing.

I want you to vote like your life depended on it. It will; maybe not in giving the last full measure, but one way or another, you’re going to pay with all you hold dear. All of it.

Vote coservative. Vote God. Vote Biblical principles.
Vote for opportunity, not a handout
Vote for initiative, not proscription
Vote for open markets, not protectionism
Vote life, not abortion even to the point of letting an aborted baby who lives die on cold steel.

And remember your boots are still on the dirt, the hallowed ground our forebears fought to free and keep free. Your boots are in this fight.

Combat Boots

The blue enclaves (large cities) are crime ridden, welfare entitlement zones, with out of control schools, liberal judges and gun control enforced against the relatively few law abiding citizens who work there.

That is why I advocate consedering medium sized or smaller cities. Such places are likely to have jobs available and they are less likely to have the critical mass of problems most big cities have.

If you did that in Michigan, your life would have been threatened as well...

Come on down the Georgia, we're mostly Republicans here! You don't really have to live in any of our "left coasts".

Right now they are happy as contented cows because they cannot believe he could possibly lose. But, If O loses and riots break out, Nov 4 will be my last day. My life expectancy would drop to zero if I stayed there.

I had a software contract in Detroit a few years back. I was very glad that Michigan has CCW reciprocity with Pennsylvania. It was kind of weird walking around on the weekend and sticking out like a creamsicle (I like your phrase).

Plan on taking the day off on Nov 5. Whether Obama wins or loses, things will be exciting in Detroit from late Nov 4 through Nov 5.

Best thing that ever happened to you. Now go find a place you can produce. That place was heading for the toilet anyway.

God did you a favor and the world is looking for productive hard workers. You are a rare commodity and tell them your story, Republicans do the hiring.

Pray for W McCuda and Our Troops

One important work item for the next time around: a digital audio recorder. For $35 you can get something like this compact, discrete little thing that will record up to 144 hours. When you notice you're in a hostile environment, just keep it turned on and make notes of when in the day you experienced anything hostile.

Save the relevant clips, along with your notes.

I haven’t read through the whole thread Lisa, but I’m in Ohio, as I believe you are too. Because Ohio is an ‘Employment At Will’ state, unfortunately, unless you are in a union, your employer can fire you if he doesn’t like the color shoes you wore to work one day. It’s that simple. And, I wouldn’t feel bad about quitting. Had they fired you, depending on what reason they give, even if not exactly true, something like poor performance or insubordination would probably have prevented you from collecting unemployment. I’m not much of a union person, but ‘at-will’ laws leave employees at the mercy of their employers. I’m sorry to hear that this happened to you and wish you the best.
