It occurs to me that this election may well feature a turnout that in numbers, composition, and disposition may well be unique in our history. For this reason, and for good or ill, we should be wary of early calls based on exit polls. With that in mind, I have slightly modified "Jabberwocky." The new title would be: Matthewswocky.
Beware the Exit Polls, my son!
The lies that bite, the dreams that catch!
Beware the Early Call,
And shun the frumious Olbersnatch!
He took his voting pen in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the polling place,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Matthewswock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the pundithood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The voting pen went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
And has thou slain the Mathewswock?

O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
He chortled in his joy.

It’s hard to imagine that conservative evangelical turnout will be anything but huge.
‘Twas the night before elections
And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down!
I, in my bathrobe

When all of a sudden

They had come for my wallet

He snatched up my money

Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink
He then rallied his henchmen
Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
To tear my country apart!
’ On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On Acorn, On Pelosi’
He screamed at the pairs!
They took off for his cause
And as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn’t stand up and fight!
So I leave you to think
On this one final note-
IF YOU DONT WANT SOCIALISM
GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

This election has put abortion on the front page again with a renewed vigor.

Well, if I have to be labeled, I guess "conservative evangelical" is a fair label ... and I will be turning out.
