Rather than compare Obama with John Gotti, I suggest a comparison with Juan Peron. Peron, too, was a smiler who promised to redistribute wealth. And though he used thugs to attack opponents, he best tactic was to use the power of the state to coerce opponents; for instance, if you didn't want to contribute to one of Evita's projects, health inspectors appeared at your door. Needless to say, your business or property failed and was closed until you contributed to Evita's “foundation.”
