“I’m Bill Clinton and I think you deserve a change. That’s why I’ve offered a plan to get the economy moving again, starting with a middle-class tax cut...”
—Bill Clinton campaign commercial, 1/16/92
“I want to make it very clear that this middle class tax cut, in my view, is central to any attempt we’re going to make to have a short-term economic strategy and a longterm fairness strategy which is part of getting this country going again.”
—Bill Clinton, New Hampshire primary debate, 1/19/92
“From New Hampshire forward, for reasons that absolutely mystified me, the press thought the most important issue in the race was the middle class tax cut”
—President-elect Bill Clinton, news conference, 1/14/93
“...I will tell you this: I will not raise taxes on the middle-class to pay for these programs.”
—Bill Clinton, presidential debate, 10/19/92
“To middle-class Americans who have paid a great deal over the last 12 years and from whom I ask a contribution tonight...”
—Bill Clinton, announcing the largest tax increase in history, State of the
Union address, 2/17/93
“Probably there are people in this room still mad at me at that budget because you think I raised your taxes too much. It might surprise you to know that I think I raised them too much too.”
—Bill Clinton, remarks at Houston fund- raiser, 10/17/95
“I take full responsibility, proudly, for what we did. It [raising taxes] was the right thing to do.”
—Bill Clinton, press conference, 10/19/95
Bill Clinton did this very same thing. He started with a high number then came down to $36,000, then after just three weeks in office claimed he had worked as hard as he ever had but could only see to RAISE taxes on everybody.
Democrats are stupid enough to fall for that line again.
this is kind of off topic, but does anyone know if that $250K is net or gross. Been having disputes with people.
This is the way it always goes in communist take overs, blame the rich, put a tax on them, discover you can't pay for everything and gradually pull everyone into the tax increase and pay out fewer goodies so the government can keep the wealth.
All communist countries end up keeping the money for the ruling class, and that includes the mythical socialist paradise of Sweden et al.
I seem to recall that earlier in the campaign that the figure of $90,000 was the Obama definition of Rich.
What’s with Biden’s continual eye blinking? He’s got to be blinking 30 times per minute. I think it’s a sign he’s in blatant lying mode and his conscience is trying to get through to him with the message of guilt.
The content of his speech is as plastic as his appearance. Biden has become an abject liar. Pathetic.
That’s not quite true. If your boss is a small business owner who gets driven out of business by paying effective tax rates of 50% to 60% (and that’s no exaggeration), you will lose your job and have an effective tax rate of 0%.
I think that the Bush tax cuts will expire and everyone will see a hike.
And don't forget the "green" tax. That is, higher taxes on fossil fuels. That will hit everybody no matter how much money they make.
The ultimate goal is 100% taxation on everyone, then everyone gets a “free government check” with their allowance.
Ta Da!! We’re all equal. Yeah!!
That’s correct. The other thing nobody seems to remember to factor in is that he’s talking FAMILY income, not individual income. 0bambi considers a married couple filing jointly who together make $90K as the “rich” that need their taxes increased.
Raise taxes on the corporations and they will pass them on as a cost of doing business to the consumers.
CAN WE RAISE TAXES? YES WE CAN!
It doesn’t matter who gets the tax bill. It is always the consumer who pays it.
